The Hunting thread!

You Guys are doing it right, raised my family on Pheasant, Chukar, Grouse Turkey and especially venison. To the tune of four to six Deer a year.
This year I went to hunt with my family on their land in upper Michigan. Did not see a legal Buck the first two years and Does everywhere.
This year after the three biggest Bucks on the land were taken by family during Bow season I decided if it's a legal buck "if it's brown it's down.

Off hand 80 yards while moving to a different spot, saw him before he saw me.

As Martha Stewart say's " It's a good thing"

Congrats Willy the good old days may be past us but with good health and the grace of God we should be able to harvest at least one good buck a season.Hard work, clean living and knowledge. Enjoy

Nice buck I'm a little jealous of that tasty sausage. I'm slacking I'll get my act in gear and do up a few batches next weekend. What rifle/cartridge are you using looks like a perfect shot placement

That's one fine rifle you have there CZ is one of my favourites. I own one in a .22Lr and plan on adding the CZ 17 Hornet to the collection this spring my dad has two of them 22Lr/22Mag.

Nice buck Willy. I got two this year and haven't been back. Got an 8 with a nice symetrical rack and another ? pt with a big 4-by right side and funky under developed left side. He was a 165 lber. Actually the day before I hunted that morning and had him come in before shooting light.

I waited patiently for more light and thought I had enough so I let her rip. The next 2 hours would prove I totally missed as I found zero blood or sign. I thought since I educated that deer I'd never see him again. Lucky for me it was the middle of rut and this guy was not paying attention in class the previous morning LOL. Wish I could post pics. I will eventually when I get around to buying a laptop.

BTW loving my 1 hp Cabela's grinder. I've got about 60 lbs of ground in 1 lb packages in the freezer. Between surf and turf I'm set. :deer:

Your killing me with the Moose stuff my friend, love it and need to go hunting for it this next season. Just cant wait any longer

I took a small 5x5 bull elk at 25 yards with my bow on Friday with my father calling for me. It came in silently and gave me a broadside shot the rage broadhead did its job perfectly. I double lunged him and had a 200 yard recovery. I'm trying to upload a picture but it wont let me.
