Hey RidgeRunner, I have a 1989 20ft Fish is that the same as the fisherman? I am about to start the prosess of haveing the hull repainted inside and out. I am going to remove all the hardware and motor, but i was wondering how much it will cost to be painted. I can see that you have done alot of work you fisherman and thought you might be able to help. the only diffence I see on your boat is the motor on mine is connected to the hull verses the way yours is "not sure what that is called" any info would be great thanks, by the way I am in Panama city Florida

Hey ,Captain Pete.very nice words have been spoken about you. just droping this not to tell you my mom grew up in Toms River and i spent every summer their as a child. just wondering if it is still as wonderfull a town now as it was then. Ihave not been their in a little over 20 years.as i am 51 now, great memories of fishing and swimming in what uncle Bill called Ceader crick. good luck to you.

The 200 ho is a hp monster--does not need much throttle--With the difference in the 2 boats between my 20 and the 21 with the transom set back a bit--I would say yes--a great choice is you need alot of power--I would probabley go with the small 200 instead if you can get a better deal on one. Sorry it took so long for me to answer ya.

Heavy for the boat ?
Top speed ?
Do you like the motor and would you recommend it for the V21 ?

Glad to find this website.....profile picture has my new project. Actually already in pretty god shape. 1984 V20 with 2004 Johnson 4 Stroke (Suzuki) (93 hours)and 9.9 Johnson kicker.

Plan to add hardtop ....... any suggestions..... plan to troll 20-40 miles ofshore Aransas Pass TX ........ any comments/suggestions appreciated. What do you think I will have for range...... has new 42 gallon tank.

1971 V20 CC with a 140 suzuki. Trailer was shot. Stringers are bad as well. When I jacked it up the hull had a lot of deflection. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.

i am new to boating been working with no time to enjoy life thought a project boat would be relaxing pass time am new to boats but have a good bit of knowledge as far as wood working and mechanical i have been reading posts and such and there is a lot of wellcraft knowledge here i have a 86 v20 cuddy cabin with a 470 mercruiser it needs a little tlc but uverall it is pretty good condition i have done a little fiberglass work on the front motor mount area also the outdrive needs some work hope to get it in the water this fall for lobster season but not holding my breath. will post pictures as soon as i figure how to do it not much on computors just enough to turn them on

Looking for parts, especially original bow rail and bimini top with camper top (like Wellcraft offered as an accessory when new) even if entire top had to be custom built. Also looking for advice on modifications like putting a 70-80 gallon gas tank in the floor (floor is soft so I'm redoing entire floor and interior of the hull so I'd like to do it then) and a way to have a folding top that you can have up while running plus a camper top that will provide 4-sided protection from the weather but has roll-up or removable sides so i can use only the bimini and the bimini will fold down for fishing. This boat is mainly for fishing so i don't want a t-top as they are in the way and i don't do much trolling but I need a top that will protect my wife and young son from the weather when island hopping in the Gulf of Mexico. thanks in advance for any help or advice, Kenny

I bought a 1982 V 20 earlier this month We took it to the lake first and it ran well noticed gas leaking from the stern, and then lowered the trailer tongue and it stopped but I think quite a bit leaked before I noticed took it to the coast and replaced the fuel line that was rotted thought we were good then went fishing on the bay and made a few stops then went to start it and we had an explosion which lifted me and my buddy off the deck, smoke came out of the forward hatch and we hit it with the fire extinquisher. Got towed back. pretty scary, hull looks fine but I think this old 1982 either had a bad leak in the fill line or a bad gas tank
