Awesome ! Would love to see pics .Me,I Do. 1978 V20. And love her , I think the newest V is still going to be 30 years old . Mine is 47 years old and still is better looking than the newest boats made today. I love looking at my boat and all the other Vs out there
Totally understood ….great postEngine 150 1988 mercury she came with a 115 and the guy I bought it from put on the 150. Still going strong. Knock on wood
The fuel tank was replaced. A very long time ago. When I first got her I almost broke down on the water but didn’t. I had the fuel tank replaced with a 55 gallon plastic tank. I also had to get a new trailer 2012. And put on an aluminum transom saver to take some strain off the transom. That’s about it except for the normal stuff. Plugs, switch boxes. Steering cable thermostats. Stator a few times , trigger assembly. To name a few
I love that boat,my boat
I would love to post pictures but I don’t know how to , now she is far from perfect but so am I. lol she is a good boat.
If I had to give her a number from 1. To. 10. I would. Give her a 7. But me personally I would give her 20.
Been between boats for while after owed a Mako …but have enjoyed lurking on this site for long while before posting. The only advice I can give you or anyone buying a boat, old or new, if you don’t like working on your boat ( repairs and waxing and upkeep) don’t buy one. I love working on my boat .not rebuilding her just maintaining her Some people said to me. Why don’t you buy a new boat. Why? I have the best one now. It’s like a 1957 corvette very classic and beautiful. Same here . Thanks.![]()
