My best fish this year came on the one and only live killie I rigged up. Had finger mullet and caught 2 shorts using it. Ran out of finger mullet and had the 5" killie as a last resort (all caught in net). Put it on and bang - 21" flounder.

Hey Skools, watch out because the species homo split tailious needs no computer screen, they have a highly developed sense of smell and can sniff out sh!t from thin air. ;)

Hey, MJ-What kind of fish is a fluke? Is that some sortof yankee flounder?

LOL Maybe thay can't spell Flounder up north offshorega. Heck everytime my Girl does some crazy thing I just laugh and ask her if that's a northern thing since she's from Ronkonkoma. That's on Long Island in NY for those Southern folks LOL.

We have two distinct species of Flounder. Summer Flounder (or Fluke up here) and Winter Flounder (just commonly refferred to as Flounder). Fluke are the larger of the two species. 8)

Ahh, I appreciate the knowledge guys. I thought it'd have to be in the family. Do you gig those ol' boys or try to hook'em?

Fluke are larger and have teeth, flounder are smaller and have lips.
we use live bait, squid, fluke and other fish bellys, jigs what ever works!!

Captbent, excellent Striper fishing right now in RI. Some big fish being taken recently. ;)
Here's a great fishing website that macojoe and I also frequent for much of the fishing aspects of this great pastime. 8)

I think the flounder are a right side fish and the fluke is a left side too with flounder being the darker of the two. I've never caught a "flounder" down here. They are all left side with teeth, so technically they are flukes.

Almost missed this one, but senior telecommunications technician (glorified telephone man) handling mostly military accounts.... However, I liked skool's idea. Go ahead with your bad self... 8)
