Location: Lancaster, PA USA Have had three LoadRite trailers and prefer them. Did have several annoying problems with my new trailer that were not all the manufacturer's fault. I fixed them myself, but decided to call the President of LoadRite, Bob Roseman, and alert him to these problems. He showed concern and wanted all the details, so he could track down where and why the problems occurred.
At the end of our conversation, I mentioned that I wanted to shorten the tongue 2' for better maneuverablilty. Asked him some specifics as to how to best deal with the wiring and brake lines. He did explain several ways of doing it. Then he offered to have the "adjustment" made at his plant in Fairless Hills, PA at no cost. This sounded good to me.
Bob asked me to take a series of digital pics of the boat on the trailer, so he could consult with his engineers and make sure that shortening the tongue would not cause me any problems.
I took the trailer sans boat to the LoadRite plant this morning. President Roseman introduced me to the head of manufacturing, Hugh Berry, and one of the engineers. The trailer was picked up and placed in one of their bays. I reviewed the pics with the two men and they decided that they would replace the tongue with a new one 24" shorter.
While there I mentioned that it seemed that two brake seals were seeping more than the normal amount of grease. They replaced all four seals. They also noticed from the pics that my boat could be lowered 1.5 inches and still have clearance on the fenders. That was done also. Without me asking they removed the remains of the LoadRite decals that I had blown off during a 14 degree temp day at the car wash and replaced them with new ones.
When my boat was originally put on the trailer, the two rear bunks were smashed and the carpet torn. Even though LoadRite had nothing to do with this problem, they offered to put four new bunks on my trailer.
My buddy and I got a tour of the manufacturing facility and were given two sharp LoadRite caps. President Roseman and Hugh Berry were extremely cordial and could not have done more in the area of customer service. I feel my trailer is 100% at this point. It is good when products are totally correct from the start, but that is not always the case. The next best thing is having a company that goes the extra mile to make things right. LoadRite could not have done more.
