hip replacement

I had a hip repair with the 2 rods, but my actual hip is still mine. Having your hip area cut on isn't that bad, but the swelling in your knee and such afterwards is pretty bad due to it being below your heart.

well i need 2 hip joint replacements people have said its a fast recovery just wondering if anyone had problems with doing one

Car wreck 10 years ago. The short story was alchol was involved as well as a KIA, 60MPH head on into a tree and I was the passenger. Broke my left leg right at the hip ball and crushed my right shoulder at the socket. Sent bone fragments into my left kidney as well. 3 surgeries to my shoulder and 2 to my hip and I can walk and function in a somewhat normal fashion, but at 30 I'm riddled with severe arthritis of teh hands and forearms, bad back, bad hip, and 2 bad shoulders(I had another car accident 11 years ago where I was on foot and got hit by a truck in a parking lot and tore my left shoulder blade out of my back). I would say half the time anymore arthritis has me to the point where I can't hardly function, and 25% of the time I have good days where I can function and work as fast as anybody out there. The other 25% of the time is in between and pretty unpredicteable.

how do u manage the pain what drugs do u take

how do u manage the pain what drugs do u take

For awhile I was taking about 12 vivodin a day, then it was 6-8 darvocet, and followed up by alot of soma. I ended up with a stomach infection, ulcers, and a large portion of my stomach lining was eaten away. Now the only thing I can take without alot of problems is tyelenol arthritis. Even aleve makes me bleed internally after just 3 pills of it. I built up a tolerance to pain meds in general as well from it, so they don't really work anyways. I'm a tough one to put under anastesia due to my tolerance of pain meds. I'm also allergic to demerol due to my stomach as it makes me go into violent vomiting. basically I have just learned how to deal with it on the regular days, work smartly on the good days, and DON'T work on the bad days.

not good a least i i understand u a little i have had some heath issues over the years from age 7 i surrvive on antidapressants painidine forte and morphine pills to keep me sane but dont always work i have out burts of angy every now and then but with the find of 2 hips needing replacement its giving me hope to some relief of some pain

my saying is that when u get very ill from cancer if the cancer dont kill u the depression and worries will

one of my biggest problems is contrilling my depression been on them for 17 years and have tried different types they only seem to help for a short time so i shuffle the different kinds whick help

maybe ill will explain my heath problems one day but most people with sickness free lives dont have time to listern
im glad therm that u would understand good luck with controlling and managing your pain its hard cause u cant plan your life one day your fine the next your ****ed from doing to much the day before cause u felt good

ok enough of my bull**** hoping my head comes tomorrow

You never know what the guy sitting at the other end of the computer might be up to or going through. Everybody that is in good health takes their health for granted, hope you both have more good days than bad.
Aussie, hope your hip replacement is a great success. Three of my uncles and my next door neighbor had it done. They were back on their feet real fast.

Hate to hear you guys are dealing w/those health issues...hope there's some relief in your future and that you do OK...

Ridge is right...we all take our health for granted til something unexpected knocks us down...

Well at 51 I broke my first bone and I have never been out of work before and its hard sitting in a recliner 16 hrs a day, I need to be cleaning my boat. Thank god my son has stepped up at work and is basically running the business for me.

Hmmmmm.... no bruising or discoloration on the toes.. looks fishy to me. You know... anyone can wrap their leg with some ace bandages and say they are hurt... Hell, I know of a few guys that used to do that on skiing trips all the time ... they picked up chicks that way. Just because your boat needs cleaning was no reason to fake an accident ... we'd still like you even with a dirty vessel. :you:
