hip replacement

hey do u suffer with depression

At times it gets bad, but I REFUSE to take anything for it(long story I really don't want to air in public). It actualy didn't set in until I had to come to the realization that I wasn't the person I was before the accident. After the 2nd surgery on my hip a year after the accident when the titanium rod failed due to a non union fracture, I had to realize that things would never be the same again. Most days I try to go out and work to keep from getting down, but on days when I can't work I try to go online and ignore it. If I can keep my mind pre occupied I'm normaly fine, but some days are tough to deal with. I just have to remind myself that I'm alive, and it sure beats the alternative.

Hey guys,

I work as a therapist and can tell you a lot about replacements if you have questions. Every hip is different, I've seen hips get to 90% function in two/three weeks but I have also worked on hips for months. There are a lot of factors that go into it. The biggest problem is how much the other joints/muscles have compensated for the hip dysfunction. One thing I can tell you is the replacement is a life long change. Once you have the implant in your body YOU have to take care of it. The doc/therapist can get to close to 100% function but if YOU don't do anything to help it daily you will have pain, you will be back to see the doc, and then back in therapy. We see is a LOT!!! YOU have to follow through and keep it strong and take care of yourself, if not you'll be back where you started.

If you have any questions I can try and answer them the best I can for you.
