WOW $400.00 V-20 For Sale

Hi, all--

I bought this boat for a few parts that I needed and now I'm selling the rest as a lot or in bits.

The boat is mostly complete, minus the outdrive and transom shield (need those pieces for another project). The engine is cracked, but free (couldn't start it, but it turned over fine). The oil looked milky to me, but I'm not sure if that's because of the crack or if water entered through the carb or something.

Here're the good major pieces:
--Trailer - needs wired and brakes installed (if you need'em). The tires are old, but after a 40 mile trip, there was no heat in the tires or bearing and I couldn't pick up any noise. Still, I'd recommend replacing the bearings before any long runs.
--Exhaust manifold is decent, no cracks that I could find and rust is minimal
--Gauges, controls, dash pieces are decent (can't confirm that everything works properly, but they jumped when I was trying to start the engine
--Seats are complete, but probably need re-covered
--Trim pump looks to be in decent shape. These are easy rebuilders, I might get motivated and test it later this weekend.
--Glass - walk-through pane is broken, but frame is good, all other is good
--Lots of brightwork still in nice shape. Deck cleats shined right up and it looks like all the teak trim is intact
--Engine cover is serviceable, and bimini frame is intact, but canvas is brittle.

The not so good:
-- as mentioned, the engine is cracked, but might be runnable.
--The engine mounts and transom are soft. The hull is somewhat beat up, but if you are looking for a project, it might be okay for you.

The boat is in SW Ohio and I'll work with you on transport. I have what I want from the boat, so prices are cheap. I'll ship the smaller stuff just fine, bigger stuff can be shipped, but might be price prohibitive?

If there's no interest in the big pieces, I'll probably strip the hull and haul the shell to the dump.

In any case, drop me an email or post here if you are interested in any of the pieces. tautog at rocketmail dot com.

Thanks!

Hows the bow rail look? Im still looking for one for my V.

The rail is in decent shape. Has a small tweak in it and the mounting hardware is pretty rough. If I can get it to work, here are some detail pictures:

Make an offer, I'm flexible.

Thanks,

must be a river rat lol

;D Not really - The river is a pain because you never know what the conditions will be. This year wasn't bad, not too much rain, but in past years, you'd only get a month or two of decent water (heavy rainfall upstream).

I'd rather head south to TN... Or further south to FL! Although, once I get our big boat fixed, I plan on exploring Erie and maybe parts of Michigan...

Congrads of the V. Windshield, sliding hatch and bow row and good resale parts. ;)
Already dipping into the hard cider?? ::) I had to read your reply three times before I figured out what you said... ;D

In any case, thanks for the words of advice!

He doesn't bother me at all... I thought it was kind of funny...

I think that you're the only person I've ever encountered to get the tautog thing and it's been my username of choice for the last 15+ years... And, yes, living in Ohio IS wrong... ;) Might explain my constant desire to get to warm water...

I've been to/through Steubenville a few times... The fall of the steel industry has been tough on that town.

An Update -

The trailer is sold and the gauge package. There's still a lot of nice parts on this hull or take the remainder for a cool $100.

Thanks,

Chris
