You're telling me! Yesterday we made a run but stayed in the creeks and rivers -- didn't even venture into Port Royal Sound. The weather guys called it right: deteriorating conditions late afternoon into the night, and it blew all night long and is still blowing, though not as bad as last night. Still, the forecast calls for increasing winds as the low tracks closer, and the nearshore forecast is for waves anywhere from 7' to 12'. The Gulf Stream out from here (not that I'm heading there!) is expecting 24' - 38' seas! :o And near hurricane force winds. Sounds like time to sip a cold one aboard - - - tied up in the slip.

NC Coast Guard units have rescued 9 people today in 3 different incidents. All due to the weather. That is what the local news said anyway.
