Hey Tin, I dont know the name of the connectors I used when I did my bildge pump. Each wire slid into a flexable platic connector with metal inside. I then crimped them and added that wet tape in a can, and then wrapped them in electrical tape.

They do make crimp connectors with epoxy coated heatshring tubing, I kept a few on board for emergency repairs, they do a pretty good job, but soldering is best

The connections the guys are talkin' about are key to keepin' that light goin'...another thing ya wanna do is shoot a little somethin'( WD, Corrosion X, contact cleaner ) in the base and bottom of pole-connections from time to time...and if ya haven't used it for a while, w/ the juice still wet, plug it in a couple of times to keep those contacts fresh 8) ...
I used this base...put it in in '99 and it's never failed...yet : ;D ;D...
