Haven't heard anything official although several guys said big lines of heavy debris were in the stream that day. These guys were 30 miles off at 5:30 am, so you know they were running in the pitch dark
I fished on the Sea Toy, if its out of Oregon Inlet. The article said it was one of the boats that rescued the crew. I fished a charter on here several years ago and caught a 98 lb yellow fin, my first North Carolina citation! Tha Captian was Bull Tolson, a hell of a good captian.
I can't beleive the crew - in the video none are wearing life jackets and that one guy just plops off the front of the boat as if in a drunken haze at 5:30 am !!
Bull, Sea Toy, fishes out of Pirate's Cove..so does Hog Wild, the tourney leader the first day. Know them both and have fished Bull a few times. Was at the Cove last week and most all the boats up at the tourney!
:-[Nope no bills...bailed dolphin till we couldn't bail no more. We fished south and all the bills up north right now. Had a sail and a big hoo run thru the spread. Grass way scattered south. Spent most the day clearing lines. Going back 1st week Sept..need to fill the freezer with some tuna!
I ya want to dive the Dream Catcher, well, she's sittin in Cape May NJ. They towed her in at 3.5 knots sunk and then floated her once they were inside the breakwall. An old repair gave way and she had a hole in her hull about 12" x 18".
