I would have loved to be with you guys, but unfortunately we wound up with 2+ feet of water in our finished basement. Ever since they (Army Corp of Engineering) finished a dam upriver 4 years ago we have had catastropic floods 3 of the last 4 years. Before we got seepage, now we get anywhere from 2 feet to 40 inches at our garage door. Gonna block the door up this summer and put an end to this BS, but it's amazing that they say the dam has nothing to do with the flooding... it's just a coincidence that we are now getting 100 year floods every year.. They're supposed to be having hearings on the problem this summer... like that's gonna do anything. But they have to do something... the floods are closing major interstate roads.. and blocking interstate commerce is a no-no. Time will tell. Glad you guys had a great time. Maybe next year we can do it a little later after the flood season is over? (Late April, early May) :head:

Destroyer, the ACOE's screw up more waterways and cause more damage than they are supposed to fix. Ever heard of the Everglades Restoration Project? They are spending Billions taking out all of the water control devices that the taxpayers spent Billions to have the Corps install many years ago. Don't get me started. At least my feet are dry.

Spare, we gotta do this again. Two days ain't enough and we barely spent any time at all with you. Thanks for capturing my best side there.

Ya...these are the guys that wanted to build a 40' dia tunnel 240' feet straight down in the middle of the river, and then several miles under a mountain range to exit in Newark Bay in order to fix the flooding problem....They were going to have a huge iris (like a camera lens) open and close the tunnel. Cost was a modest 200 billion dollars... but you knew that with cost overruns it would be hundreds of billions more.... Thank God that project got defeated!!!! :bat:
