What’s with the kids today?

My wife made turkey, chicken parmigiana, two types of pasta, sweet potatoes plus a bunch of other stuff and all they had was salad no turkey hardly any pasta. They don’t eat. Oh well more for me.
Now next year they get a sandwich and if they don’t like that. I guess they go home hungry.
Now we have to get thru Christmas.

Step, kids today are tough to figure out. They don't appreciate the holiday's as we did/do, especially when we were young. I think most of them have their lives guided by friends, and social media. With the young one's today every thing is some kind of cause against some thing. I don;t know how old your kids are, but if they are young enough I hope you made them sit at the table until dinner as finished. My mother was Sicilian, God forbid you didn't eat what was put on your plate. You just have to make the best of it and try to raise them the best you and your wife can. Just my lousy 2 cents.

Its the parents fault. They give kids a phone or tablet so they don't have to deal with them. Kids don't learn any thing they will need later in life. I told my son he will learn basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and how to work on his car before he grows up.

I wasn’t very clear about what I meant. My kids the two of them that came are good. There not kids anymore but my grandkids. That’s what I meant. One doesn’t do anything and my granddaughter all she eats is salad. My kids don’t eat also. One is texting all day what an$ who are you texting? Geez. My oldest is like me. A cool kid with a sense of humor. My youngest couldn’t make it ,he was fishing. He works on a party boat tires of the holidays.
It’s definitely not how it was when I was a kid. The one word I would eliminate from every saying again. Is. Social media. I friggin hate it. Sure we chat on this site. But if we had a choice I would call on the phone. And actually talk. Remember that? We gre2 up in the best of times. Today it’s not.

A sad thing is that even kids who are parented reasonably well are exposed to a lot of peer influence from the masses of kids who aren’t. Obnoxious, dishonest, destructive behavior is normalized and promoted on social media and demonstrated by enough other kids that it takes some serious parenting to keep kids on a good path.
