What’s going on?no new post

C mon brothers let’s get back into it. What? Is everyone sleeping?
Ok. I went fishing on my beautiful wellcraft with my son Captain Mike. We are fishing in raritan bay and not doing so good. Where are the fish?
Also if you buy a liquid transfer pump from harbor freight. They are not to good. You will have to replace the crappy tube that it comes with after two times of use.
And third. Go ahead and curse me out. I know fishing is not 5his section but I bet I got your blood boiling.
Happy 4 th. And FYI. The ramp in Atlantic highlands will be closed on the fourth. Your welcome

Sleeping? I'm at work!

Wifey and I got out last Saturday and did some exploring. Very high tide still rising and we went through some tight and skinny channels (if you can call them channels) in the lowcountry marshes until we finally dead ended. Reached a point where we could actually see a known channel but didn't want to risk getting stuck in the mud trying to get to it. This is between Savage Island and Palmetto Bluff for anyone who knows the area. GPS and charts don't show what's what in there. It was a great afternoon.

So hot! Went out for a ride late yesterday afternoon and even the wind was hot. Bearable while we were moving but cleaning up and flushing at the dock were awful. But you know what? It's better than not having a boat at all! And we live in America, still mostly free! 🇺🇸

Yep, been smoking hot here also. Wife and daughter are both off for the 4th this week, so maybe i can sneak a trip in 80% chance of rain tomorrow, but 10% for the rest of the week. But that maybe just the chamber of commerce forcast.

I've been trying to figure out a few issues with my repower, so I've been quiet (2020 Merc 200hp on the 1980 V-20). Two weekends in a row, had the boat out for 30 minutes. First weekend, could only get 3000 rpm out of the engine. Second weekend, started off around 4500/5000 rpm as WOT, but 20 minutes later could only get 2500 or 3000 rpm.

At first I thought it was a fuel issue, since I have a non standard fuel set up. (two tanks, a three way valve, remote fuel pump). Service center did a 300 hour service, and bypassed my fuel pump. Once I put the fuel pump back in service, the second weekend I thought I was doing well with 5000 rpm and 35 mph (15 inch pitch prop). But then my speed died, and I got back to the dock at about 10 mph.

Current thought is it's my alternator, since my batteries read 12.6 volts, but the engine is only outputting 12.0. I'm hoping my new one comes in Friday, and if so, I'll install it ASAP to test the boat out again. If I don't get more performance from that, then I'll start digging into the fuel injection system.

This is giving me time to run down an issue with the sending unit on one of the fuel tanks.

I like futzing around with the boat. But I'd much rather be using the boat!

I have been busy working, building a garage on my other property, built a sawmill so milling lumber takes a while.
Going to penns creek for the 4th weekend.
Might get the boat ready and take it out the weekend after. I don't boat on busy weekends. Too much time at the ramps.
My beach trip will be here soon so gotta have the boat ready for that. I feel like I'm going 100mph all week.

Your vessel view should be reading 14.1-14.6 when running. sounds like a new alternator is in your future. On my 3rd one in less than 1000 hours.
