Wellcraft 25' Coastal

I have a 1986 24'6 Coastal. I love it. I need to fix my trim tanks which I'm sure will make it even better but I have no complaints. It's no V-20 ride but won't beat you up too bad.

Please explain - you advising the V20 rides better than the 25 ?
If so why / how. I would t expect that.

My 250 rides great too, a little heavy with the twin 225's on it but nice ride, the my V20 does ride better due to the sharper entry in the water with more lift strikes under it in comparsion to the 250 per sqft on the bottom, plus the flair the V20's have helps too.

I've been on a couple and wasn't super impressed. I've heard with a single I/O they ride nice, but I've only been on outboard powered ones. The one with twin 225's on a bracket was nice on flat water when you wanted to boogy, but put it in a chop and it slammed pretty hard even with the tabs down. Keep in mind that hull is 4 feet longer, has 2 degrees less deadrise to it, no sharp entry to the bow so they could have cabin space inside, and is still only 8 foot beam. It's a nice hull for what it was designed for, but I would definately say the v-20 is a much softer riding hull.

Sorry, been busy. It's just as said by Ferm, a softer ride in my V-20. Any chop bangs on the hull pretty good in the Coastal but still not bad. Not like an old tri-hull or anything. Plus mine would probably ride better if I'd ever get the trim tabs fixed. On my list to do the Lenco electric conversion. Just haven't worried too much with it as it's been too muggy to even boat.
