Well i finally took House Pics

Nice place Skool, If you need any questions on your yard I may be able to help, I retired from my federal job and I just do landscaping. I've been landscaping for about 30 yrs.

oh ok thanks got the plan just the funds now currently pulling the front pine trees out with the tahoe and burning them on weekends in the fire pit with neighbors over and beer. like the song says Chicken Fried lol. Once i get them all out i'll replant the yard. i've pulled 21 pines down so far out front.

Nice looking spread Skools.

What model JD you got there? How do you like it? I'm looking around for a good used tractor. Tried to get reviews on different models, but it seems they're all over the spectrum from love to hate.

Just in case willy takes it the wrong way, by JD is was referring to the green and yeller four wheeled machine under the car port. Not the stuff in the bottle. Although there's nothing wrong with that either. Dang it! Now I'm getting thirsty. Might just pour me a Jack and Coke.

it's a JD265 with tilt wheel, power steering, hydraulic deck lift, hydrastic trans, with 48" cut, plus the nice feature is a fuel gauge, and hour meter. this one only has 680 hrs. The main reason I wanted the 200 or higher series was they will run the 48" front blade, rear 42" tiller, and has a 3 pt hitch cat 0 and/or sleeve hitch avail. It's a little under powered i feel some times with a Kawasaki 17 hp air cooled, but if the motor ever dies i'm going with a 24 hp Briggs Twin. I have a JD LX188 also but i perfer the 265, easier to steer with the power steering. You can usually find these 265's for around $3500 in great shape and $2500 in good shape. the Lx188 has a 48" cut as well but has a water cooled V-Twin 17.5 hp Kawasaki. My Lx188 has 5690 hrs and still running but is getting tired. the LX188's can be bought for around $1200 in good shape but to me they are about a 1/3 the tractor the 265. New the 265's sold for $6200 to $6750 depending on the options. I've had several others but those were my work horse's. I really want a JD 455 Diesel but they are so high used they are $7500.

I looked at an older 318 that was pretty solid. I really don't need all the extras. Strictly lawn cutting here. Nothing more. Seems like there's a ton of the Home Depot/Lowes models around. Some of the dealer only type models are a bit harder to find. There's a decent LT166 the next town over from me that can be had for the right price. It's got the Air Cooled B&S V-Twin 16 hp.
It's 8 years old and shows 184 hours according to the owner. Been serviced every year with all records.
I think I'll have a look at it.

don't buy any that were store models only buy Deere that were sold by Deere at the dealers the store models are not real deere, if you need parts for them you are SOL they are built by low bidder usually made by either MTD or Murry. the parts are not avail for them.

That's what I was told.
This guy with the LT166 bought it from the local dealer and has all the records to prove it including original sales receipt
