Hey there,
I'm looking for a older V20 in Virginia or surrounding areas. Preferably a project (missing motor, bad transom, etc) because I don't have much money but If your trying to get rid of one in good condition, that works too!
I have a Glassmaster 18' speedboat with an inline Merc 115 in great condition if you're interested in a trade.

Thanks man. I would love to lower the price, I think its a little high myself, but I have to get at least 3500 to pay off the loan. I've only had the boat for about 9 months but I have to get rid of it now. If I had my druthers I'd keep it, but I won't have a place to store it when I move and the wife is prego. Good luck in your search, and I'll keep my eye out for one.

I don't mind the work at all I've been lookin at this one. I have a '72 100hp rude sittin around, but I think that would be underpowered on that rig. I'm selling my other boat right now which will hopefully give me some $ to play around with.

Yeah 100 would be a little light, unless you found another and did a dual setup. I've never seen one like that and I'm not sure if its possible but that would be pretty sweet. If it's got a bad transom already, why not fab a new one that could accomodate 2.

Hey USMMA, my father, rest his soul, served thru WWII as a Merchant Marine and worked as a Marine Engineer for the rest of his life, graduated Kings Point.

Wow!! I can't say how much I respect the Merchant Mariners who served in WWII. I still can't believe how much of a fight theyve had to put up to achieve veteran status...they were just as much a part of the war effort as the guys on the ground but not many people realize what a big part they played.
I'm just a fourth classmen (freshmen) but I will be majoring in Marine Engineering Systems as well!

nipper...I like the sound of that...maybe twin 115hp inline mercs :)

Guy just informed me he sold it today for 500$...oh well, there will be more!

Just 'bout got a woody thinking of a couple old school tall dog 115 merc 6 cylinder inlines pushing a V. With or without bracket, that would look sweet.

I saw somewhere online where a guy had twin 115 i6 mercs on a 20ft whaler i think...talk about a solid cruise speed he had 35mph at 2400 rpm!

That one in VA beach looks good, wonder why its so much cheaper. I've got two guys coming to look at the old boat this week, one is pretty anxious about it so we'll see.

I talked to the guy with the '73. It needs trailer work, but he'll let it go for 500$ and the boat is apparently solid. I also found a running '88 evinrude 175 from an etec repower for 800$. Thinkin about this combo...that'd leave me with a few hundred for parts, repairs, etc.

Ok guys how bout this one, its a 75 V20 with a Seadrive however the owner claims that it has a 225 Evinrude with an adaptor for the seadrive...?? Either way it doesn't run sounds like an ignition problem from the ad.
I'm not sure if theres a difference between a 225 Evinrude an the 1.6L seadrive but could that be correct?
He's asking 2500 for it

I have an 84 without motor that I am thinking about getting rid of. It has a 2000 double axle trailer, all new hubs, bearings, BB's. The boat has a solid transom and complete electrical upgrade. Garmin 440S, fuel flow sensor, 4 Channel Clarion amp, 4 new 6.5" infinity speakers. I also installed a Blue Seas ACR to keep both batteries charged while isolating the house and starting. With the upgrades I ran almost all new wiring to the dash. Everything works on the boat just no motor. It is currently rigged for yamaha with a new control box, control cables, new helm and cable, digital tach, new fuel and volt gauges. I was gonna list it for $2500 and see what I could get. Figured $1000 for the trailer, $750 for the electronics and $750 for the hull. If you are interested let me know. I am located in Northern Suffolk, just SW of the MMBT.

Yeah once you get those electrical bugs in there it is a giant pain to fix it, unless of course you have an endless budget or are really a mech. The boat looks really good though and if you can figure out the bugs then it would be a great deal. If you look at this one, pop the flywheel off and check the timer magnets. That in conjunction with my stator is what gave me such a pain. Good luck.

well guys thanks for all the help! I'm buying Preston757's '79 v20. He has some issues with the motor but I'm going to buy it and re-ring / hone the motor. Should be a good boat it looks like he's taken good care of it!!
The boat with the Seadrive looked nice, but the owner had no clue about boats and I'd much rather work on a normal outboard than a seadrive.
