LOOKING FOR 1980 - 1995. WITH OR WITHOUT POWER.
MUST BE IN GOOD SHAPE. LONG ISLAND LOCATION, BUT WILL TRAVEL TO SURROUNDING STATES FOR THE RIGHT BOAT AT THE RIGHT PRICE. TRAILER A PLUS. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Thanks for the tip, Chumbucket.

I was hopeing that one of the V-2O lovers on this site knew of a good one for sale, and their spouse would not let them have two ;) .

Any leads would be appreciated.

WOW ;D Dare I dream. Thanks Big Shrimpin, but I can,t get away with spending that much coin, what with my house needing work and this damn box freezen up at will.

I checked nada values and this is really not a bad deal, when you factor in all the toys included.

I've got to wonder, however, if the hull is sound. Why is this rig 4 sale so soon after the 2002 Santa Claus came to town?

Maybe, a newly discovered hull problem. Or perhaps it is an estate or disability sale?

I would definately check it out if it was within my budget.

Thanks for the cool dream, Big Shrimpin.

There's one on ebay right now listed as a no reserve auction. Take note about the trailer, its not the tandem axle one in the picture. It could be a gamble, but who knows?

Bigshrimpin - I called on that one yesterday. The guy told me they just sold it and it was sitting around for 2 years because of the concerns you mentioned. Ah well, ya snooze ya looze :-/.

Drumbeater - I'm gonna jump to e-bay right now, but I must confess I find the notion of buying or selling on e-bay intimidating (especially used boats).

I just want to say how much I appreciate you guys taking the time to pass on these leads to me. Would you believe that I flew down to Tampa to visit my father and inspect some junk v20's for a long weekend last week. I have an OK boat and a good friend with a v20 so I will eventually find the right one for me.

Now isn't it time for one of you guys to move up to a 2004 v20 ;)

Macojoe, Thanks for chiming in. I hope you have finally worked out the bugs in your repower project and are now enjoying what is left of the "summer that wasn't". Looks like you have provided me with a couple more sites to expand my search. Maybe Bigshrimpin can have an online pool to see which member can guess the date that Seakindly buys his v20. Winner gets a WELLCRAFTV20.COM t-shirt ;D.

Boat #1 is interesting, but I am not going back to Florida anytime soon. Too many really bad boats - with sellers telling you they are in great shape over the phone >:(.

Boat #2 looks awfully familiar. Hey wait a minute, THAT IS THE SAME BOAT AS THE ONE ON THE HOMEPAGE. Is that the same boat that Fugazi was on when he disappeared???

Boat #3 is not an outboard, and I don't have the time to do the conversion you did.

Thanks for the leads/sites, I am going to go check out some local talent and then go fluking. Beautiful day :).

Seakindly, I finished my boat back at the end of may and I have had a great summer!! I have used and abused this boat and it keeps going!! I could not be happier with the conversion!
It is not as hard as you think. I did this hole thing my self, and it went great!
Hope you find something soon!! If I see anything else I post. Weather or not I think you want it or not, and you can decided

Thanks Macojoe, I am glad to hear you are having fun. I was reading about your efforts - even went to your site looking for step by step photos. Bigshrimpin and Chumbucket gave me the idea to buy a v20 with a seadrive, ditch the seadrive for a bracket and repower with a fresh outboard. I like the idea of a full transom for drifting thru my inlet when my stern "hits the wall".

I have built 20 foot glass over white oak and plywood workboats, and my current boat is an 1973 18 foot tin boat that I completely restored 3 years ago - so I know I can do it, but my house is in need of a restoration (1/2 done) , so I really can't take the time for another major boat project.

I bumped into a really sweet 1994 v21 with a yam 150 today for a reasonable price. I am going to start a new topic for opinions on this hull.

Wow I wish I had a self bailing deck!!! This is one of the things I hate the most about my boat!!!
Did they make all the O/B self bailing?? Mine was a I/O so is this the reason mine is not??

bigirishk, 112 HP Johnson; Underpowered. The pics I posted in the gallery are of my buddy's V20 (I've got the V20 Center Console). He's got a 115 HP Merc on his and after being on it many times, I think the minimum HP rating I would consider would be 130HP.

I agree Chum, I was just passing on a V-20 listing for SeaKindly.

I just picked up a used 200hp Johnson for my 83. It's already installed on the boat, I just have some final adjustments to do to the throttle/shift cables and some very minor wiring. I'll post some pics of the cleaned up boat with this beast on it soon.

That thing is going to fly with that 200 HP on it. ;D Especially on the lakes where you can open her up a little more than us ocean goers.

Yeah, it's one huge mother compared to the 140. It looks very similar to Fitz's big Rude. I had to go and buy a transom saver last night to keep that thing secure while on the trailer. Of course now that I got the boat and looked at the hull rating plate, it says 200hp max. Looks kind of like a cuddy muscle boat!

Thank you bigirishk, macojoe, drumbeater, chumbucket, and last but certainly not least - bigshrimpin; but I have decided not to buy a v-20 after all.

That's right, I bought the 1994 v-21 - and I am stoked :D !

I suppose we could/should keep this thread going as a hot lead thread for prospective v-20 purchasers, but as for me 1 is enuff for now. Thanks again fellows, I am going to jump to the 1994 v-21 thread in the general forum to talk about my new pride and joy.
