I need an aluminum bracket to mount a used VHF radio I just bought. The mount I need has 7" to 7-3/4" between the yolk ears and needs to be at least about 3-1/2" high to the mount knob screws. My boat is used in saltwater so steel won't do.

Geek, go to Home Lowes Depot and get some flat alum. stock...clamp 1'' in a vise and start bend by hand, finish w/ block and hammer til ya get a good 90* bend...cut to fit and smooth corners and edges w/ a fine file...put two holes in short-end for attaching to boat and one to mount the radio on the long-end for the radio screws...paint or not: you're good to go...take your time, you'll be amazed ;) ;D ...

Hell, just sneal into the wife's purse and grab her credit card and go out and buy a custom one. She wont noticed it on the credit card bill. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

He*l*l, all I have are the deposit slips. But I ain't ever broke, boat payment is never late, insurance is paid up, no bitchin' when I buy tackle, at least most of the time. I get to fish more 'cause I aint wasting time paying bills!!I got a goooooooood wifey!!

Thats my system Crabby, but I do cash all my paychecks and refuse to go to direct deposit, she has been trying to get me to do that for ten or more years ::)

Gee:

Contact the radio manufacturer first. Many times the have extra parts left hanging around the shop.

Maybe this is the case.

I think I like RAP's solution. Real simple! Big Box Store's for me!!! I'll use my credit card. I used LOML's CC for the purchase of a new anchor rode last month. She threatened to knock me out, tie the anchor and rode to my leg and drop me overboard. I think she's bluffin'
