V20 Restoration Fla

Six went through as regular photos 1 went as a thumbnail.. I think that's the one you are looking at... Some photos won't open on my friends iphone so maybe you will be able to open them later on your computer... Let me know...

If figure you figure out Photobucket that will be the best pics. By the way have fun on your project. As already been said....this site is loaded with info and very very knowledgeable guys.

can't wait to see pix.

as for posting photos...my 2 cents...
I don't use photobucket(not anything against it)

The main problem is file size. New cameras have 5 megapixel or more...:pic:

To get them smaller there are multiple ways but I email them to myself, which gives the option to make smaller. I Save them in a folder marked "email photos"

Then I can choose them on this site using the "attachments paper clip"
Works every time. Puts the pix in as thumbnails that the reader can expand.

Another way is to go to your UserCP here and save them(the small files) in an album. Then you can use the "Insert Photo" function and it puts the photos directly in the post without thumbnail.

I dont seem to be able to see the pictures? And by the way when i ripped my sole up on my boat.....i was in shock as to how crappy the glass and wood construction was on my 74'. It was terrible. Just looking at quality from back then im almost positive my boat is 500 times stronger than factory!

I am still trying to figure out the picture thing.. I agree when I saw the factory work I thought it was a Monday morning project... Somebody else decided to replace the gas tank with a bigger on and had know idea how to waterproof any thing

That would make sense.. But going to leave it there... Don't want to pull gas tank out but have a lot of water under it and wondering how the original was set in... any thoughts????

the original tank cavity was between the stringers with two bulkheads fore & aft to enclose the tank. there was a 1" hole in the bottom of the bulkheads and a piece of 1" pvc was glassed in the bottom and the holes were sealed to keep the cavity "spill proof". the theory was if the fuel cell ruptured, the fuel was still contained in the cavity and not get to the bilge. pretty sure it never worked like that though. then 4 wedges were put in the cavity to hold the tank off the bottom and off the pvc pipe. after that, they were foamed in to stabilize.

when i installed my new tank, i eliminated the thru pipe and enlarged the drains

Thank you phat, I am attaching 2 photos.. One shows the way somebody cut through the riser to install a larger tank.... The other one shows the front of the tank from the front... The pvc pipe goes all the way through to the bilge area.. The problem being is that the left about a one foot void with nowhere for the water to go... Am planning on extending the pipe and building a new riser in front and foaming the void and hopefully make water proof
