Runs great, sucks gas...or should he say; SUCKS gas...bet she'll do close to 55...that's gotta be a fast-a$$ V20... :)...

The thing I find funny is this. Several folks run 200's on these guys right? IMO a 200 is not at all overkill on these boats. Well I have heard alot of people make the comment that a 225 would use too much fuel. Would another 25 horses or so REALLY use more fuel? It seems to me that the xtra power would push the rig more efficiently at the same or lower RPMs with less demand on the motor. This would of course result in AS good or better mileage. I mean a 225 cant be much or any heavier than a 200 right?

Im just askin cause I have often thought about goin with a 225 when time comes for my motor if the right deal presents itself. Im not a speed demon or anything I just know that there are times when I have been out there in rough water and EVERY extra bit of grunt your motor has is needed AND used.

PS Im also of the opinion that a 200 on the V20 would have PLENTY of grunt too...just thinkin out loud is all.

Gimme some thoughts on it. :P

well when you go to the 200 from the 150 or 175 they will use mor gas. 150 and 175 are the same block, as is the 200 and 225, I would think that a 225 would use no more gas and weights not much more if any then a 200.

At least that is how it is with my 175, same weight as the 150.

I looked at that boat, and it's rough. The oilpump on the motor is OOS, and everything's full of 2 stroke oil.
