V20 FORUM; how'd you hear?...

How did YOU hear about WellcraftV20.com?...

(dreamy music comes up as scene fades to small boy pitching stones into calm water...a beautiful, scantily clad woman rises from the H2o, her wet clothing revealing her every detail...she speaks): "Hey Ya'll (she's Southern)...you will find your FUTURE at Wellcraft V20.com..."....To which I replied, "How about my RIGHT NOW?"...and then she said...

That's how I found out about it...how did you get the word?...

I conversed with BigShrimpin (the head cheese ball) on thehulltruth a few times, we fished together and met up with macojoe on the water. All right about the same time Tim was planning to launch his new idea called wellcraftv20.com.
The rest is history.

Thanks Tim. 8)

It's my wifes fault. She found the boat. Saw it in front of a house in the neighborhood with a for sale sign on it. She knows a good thing when she see it. So then I was searching the internet for info on the boat I just bought and found this site. Been here ever since.

Bigshrimpin along with a few others were discussing Wellcraft and The V20 on The Hull Truth . Some where along the line B.S. had this brain child and I signed right up . And here we are, 662 members and counting .

I belong to the Bass Barn in NJ and have posted there from time to time. I mentioned on that forum that I had a leaky fuel tank on my V20 and got an e-mail from Mulv about a good V20 replacement tank that he had. Mulv turned me on to the V20 Forum. Belonging to this forum has been very useful, particularly the problems associated with future removal and replacement of my foamed in 60 gallon tank.

Was looking for a project boat. One day searching eBay, I ran across a '72 V20 that happened to be 2 miles from my house! It had the twins that I later sold to Skools on it. The guy wanted $2500. I figured I'd take the twins off and use a single 140hp for a while, then repower with a new motor. Everything was junk on the boat except the steering wheel. I put brand new cleats, rod-holders, windsheild supports, switch panel, dash, fuel lines, wiring, step pads, cleaned fuel tanks, removed tired bow rail, filled and sanded spider cracks and screw holes, had transom rebuilt, completely rebuilt trailer with new bearings, wheels, tires, springs, u-bolts, lights, winch, bearing buddies, and wire-brushed sanded and painted axle - whew!

Anyway, after I bought the boat and got it home, I did some searching around online for Wellcraft V20. Found a link to the site, was intrigued, and here I am! That was two years ago I think.

Since then I came across a 1994 V-21 and the '72 V20 is for sale by owner 8)

First post, but been lurking for a while.

Googled 1975 Wellcraft 20', then saw plenty of references to it being a V20. Next, googled Wellcraft V20, and this is the top or first site that it finds.

Just bought first V20, a '72 20' CC with a '75 135 Evinrude and tandom trailer for $2000. It was pickled in a warehouse for 15 years. Last titled in 1975, so am probably 2nd or 3rd owner. Looks like it had a good 15 years of heavy use before storing. But floor and transom are solid, and motor cranks, so it has potential. Will post more as I go along.

Great site!!!!

AS PART OF A 12 STEP PROGRAM I HAD THE CHOICE OF EITHER ELECTRO-SHOCK TREATMENT OR FINDING A PEER GROUP , BUT I THOUGHT THE MEANT A PIER GROUP.
SO I SEARCHED ON GOOGLE FOR - SMART ASS, WISE GUY - FULL OF SHIT - LOVE TO FISH AND BOAT AND IT TOOK OVER MY COMPUTER AND DEPOSITED ME HERE.

After winning my V20 on Ebay, I decided to search the web for Wellcraft V20 Steplift. I think the first site I found was the hull truth and I read some wonderful things people had to say about the V20 and there was a reference there to this website. So, I came to this site and joined the group. I'm very thankful for this forum and all of you. Y'all are a great source of encouragement and help.

I had EXACTLY that same dream, but in my dream she said, "__________________________________pipe?"
Oh wait, I guess it's not the same dream at all.   :-X

When I began to contemplate my refit I did a search and found this place.  It's one of my two favorite forums, the only ones I regularly visit.

Romantic.....

.....But I was actually behind Franco at the Car Wash and he came walking up to me with a V20 shirt on and honestly seemed a little excited to see my boat.  He told me about the site and offered help with some work I need to get done on my hull.

Fate.....   ...sure.

"Hey, Franco, what materials do I need to get for that hatch cover repair????"

The ocean is calling me.

Hey Tim, we gotta get a piece of plywood just a little bigger than the hatch, some resin, hardner and fiberglass cloth, couple of disposable paint brushes and a couple of cinderblocks - no kidding
