V-21 Blown Motor - NC $2300

You got a sweet deal on that!

You put that 140 4-stroke on there and a nice trailer, you'll have a $10K rig.

Of course, the Johnson Rod may just need lubrication to get the motor running again.

That's what I was thinking, Johnson rod funny a.

The block actually has hole in the side of it.

Thanks,

Technically it is a dually...just not in the same terminology we're used to when talking V20 talk. I take dually to mean dual console, which it is. The difference being it is a dual console with a cuddy rather than a walk-thru windshield (bowrider). JMO..............

Thanks Blue you clearing that up. I talked to the guy today he said several people have offered him more money for the boat but he is going to honor his word.

I just picked up a new aluminum trailer for it today.

Can you give me some true numbers for your 140 johnkuzi. What is your top speed and your cruising speed does it drop alot with your family on board. The owner of one of the 140's that I was thinking about buying discouraged me saying that he would not put it on anything over 18' boat. He removed it from a 22' Mako because it was slow. He said fully loaded 20 was pushing it. I did ask him what prop he was running and he did not know. But he said suzuki told him that was the best prop to use.

I am not a speed racer. But I would hate for the cruise to be under 20 fully loaded. I would like to cruise near 30. But I don't think a 140 can do that fully loaded.

Thanks

My top speed is 40 MPH with 2 aboard and 20 gal fuel.

Top speed is 38 with 5 aboard, 40 gal fuel, coolers, fishing gear, and bimini top up.

It will limp along at 15 mph pulling the kids on tubes at around 2800 rpm getting around 4.5 mpg or cruise 20-28 mph @ 3500-4000 rpm at around 5 mpg.

I am running a 14x21pitch prop, It runs almost the same with a 14x19 pitch but the rpms are a little higher....a 14x20 may be the perfect prop for it.

Remember, 6200 rpm is the target at WOT for this motor so you have an extra 1000 rpm to play with over most 2 stroke motors.

I would bet that the combination of the Mako 22 being a bit heavier and maybe the guy running the wrong prop (you cant go by what the dealer tells you, my dealer gave me a 15 pitch prop to start, you have to test different props to get it right) is why the other guy had poor results.

Randleman is your prop a Johnson or Suzuki prop. The doing the install wants $200 for a used SS 21 but it has several nicks. I would like to start with some new or at least not damaged.

I have a new ss quicksilver typhoon prop part # QS6004x
The diameter is 14 and the pitch is 19 it is a 4 blade prop.
Do you think that it will work

Also if this prop will not work what size should be good on the V21 since it is a bit heavy. And I am a bit heavy then most 275lbs. and all of my friends are over 200 pounds

Thanks

Sorry guys But I bought this one at about 1:00 pm local.

It sucks that it does not have a trailer but a 21' dually should make a nice boat. If one of you guys really wants it I would give it up to one of you.

Thanks

Have you already hauled it back to VA?...
