Twin 115 Loopers!

Says very fuel efficient. :zip:

Maybe compared to a 800HP BBC. I had one of them on my V-20, and it drank 12 gallons an hour running along at 4400 RPM cruise. just so happens my ported 225 on my HYDRA-sports drank less fuel running faster speeds. So I would guess if you want to push her up to a fast cruise it would be in the 18 GPH range or so with those twins. Or he could run a single 225 on 11-14 running the same speeds.

Garbubba, you are correct in that some of the v-4 Johnsons are loopers. Just not these and at 315 lb a piece this would be one of the heavier motor packages I have ever seen rigged to a V-20 transom. To only achieve a combined hp rating of around 200 hp at the prop shafts. If it would hold the weight of those two it would hold nearly any size single in a 4-stroke up to 300 hp. Or a lightweight 300. The crossflows are tough just very thirsty, I have a 90 horse and I swear it gets worse mileage than the 250 Opti does on a larger boat.

It probably does drink more than your OPTI does. I was shocked running mine on my V-20. I put in 40 gallons and it had about 6 gallons in it to start with. After 3 hours of break in I was on fumes.
