Tuesday has come & gone CTT

i pick it up next monday. just got home. from my new (to me) bomb. 2002 yukon xl. 6.0 vortec. factory tow package. cloth interior and barn doors. gold in color. 140k miles. i'll get some pictures up when i get her home. thing's a phukkin' animal. cost me more than i wanted to spend but it feels like it should last a good long time.

CONGRATS!!!, now we can concentrate on getting willy a boat.

is the yukon xl the gmc version of the suburban or short wheel base like the tahoe?

no, GMC already makes a sub. the xl seems to be longer than the yukon and tahoe but just a bit shorter than the sub.
and whatever boat willy might choose this thing will drag it and his house behind. you can just smell the torque. cant wait to bring it home.

The YUKON XL IS a SUBURBAN. GM decided to keep the SUBURBAN as a CHEVY, but kept the YUKON name for the GM as it sounded higher class. The XL meant it was the same as a SUBURBAN.

and did i mention it's a 2500.

Yes, you said it had a 6.0L in it which only came in the 2500 BURB.

what do you think of the 6.0, ferm?

Great engine. A tad thirsty but will run for LONG time. My uncle has 309000 miles on his so far, and all he has done is 3 sets of plugs, 2 sets of wires, and a water pump. Not to bad for a high milage truck that still gets driven alot for commuting. Not a bad engine for towing either, but does need some RPM's to get a load moving(not a low RPM engine, it likes the revs).

:time:sounds good, but glad your not worried about gas mph!! My brother had the same 2500 and it was getting like 12 mpg, But he also had a 36' fith wheel camper to tow and with that thing on there the mpg went to single numbers, but towed like a champ! he traded it with 270,000.
He says the gas savings with out it is paying his new car payment:news:

my total work driving commute is around 5 miles a week. yup, i said 5 miles a week. 2 boat ramps within 3 miles. not too worried about the mileage. it is what it is.
if it gets to be too much i'll look into a smaller one with a 5.3. i didnt even get the dam thing yet. gonna go out and pick it up monday morning.
