tribute to MJ

Tribute?

I never met the man, and he lives pretty nearby (Woods Hole/Wareham).
For the longest time I didn't know "Sea Ox" was a boat.
Just kidding; MJ has offered sage advice both across this forum and in personal messages. He has the kind of measured advice plus good humor that is emblematic of all the best posts on this great site.
But MAN are you people tough on him! Still, I remember when I was a young buck on construction crews, and I was told that you really only have to worry when the other guys STOP giving you $**t.

Priceless hahaha,he just called and yelled at me a few minutes ago. Everyone is out fishing:sand: the race with eels and he says they only want jigged wire so its my fault I told him to fish eels. And u think he only takes ****,well it's my fault he did not bring his wire rods along on a striper trip on cape cod. We bring wire along only on 99.9 % of all striper trips. :sun:

The fish are back over my way. I was out Sunday night until 1 AM banging the Stripers hard off Minot Light in Scituate. I found a pod of Pogies (bunker) and snagged some for livelining. They hit those and eels.

Wow cb,how can u feed a top of the line pogy to a striper, you know those are for tuna :) Heard there were only 100 plus boats at the striper hot spot to open up the comemrcial season, you think that may have spooked em a bit

Pogy=Striper Candy. Same with eels.
No doubt the netters are changing our fisheries for the bad. They are up here so close to the beaches. They're even weaving in and around the boat moorings netting in areas they are restricted from. Instead of trying to regulate our fish, we need them to regulate our bait. Like they've done in the mid-Atlantic states. Regulate the bait and the fish will take care of themselves.
Whenever I see them netting in areas they are not supposed to be in, I drop a dime to the DMF. I'm not sure how much good it does, but I feel better doing it.:bat:

Lets get joe going on a state vote to ban all seine netting of pogies and sea herring as well in mass waters,i am sure we could get a quick 10,000 signatures by every fisherman in mass and stop this crap by next yr. Have joe check into it we could get so many votes so damn fast it could be epic. NY,NJ and Conn have it and are having a banner yr for pogies and monster bass.

You know, it makes you wonder....after they ban all recreational fishing and give catch shares only to the commercial fishers, who will they blame when the netters vacuum the ocean clean of all fish, trash as well as game. :cen:

(Must be those tea party conservatives along with the NRA.... They seceretly used their massive rowboat fleet to take all the ocean's fish. I know, we'll just tax them on the fish they aren't catching) :fight:

If they're going to charge us a license fee, they need to have better restrictions and keep the draggers more than 300 yards off the beaches. :fight:
