If anyone is interested J&H Marine sells a jacking plate which allows you to mount a 25" motor on a 20" transom. It is only $100. I am considering using this and getting a 25" prepower, plus I'll fill in the 5" to get more height in the stearn.

Randleman is handles real good and her speed aint to bad either. 30-32 with just me going with the tide and 27-28 against the tide, with 60 gals fuel. I have a 13.5 diameter with a 17" pitch and will turn 4800-4900 WOT. Checked the milage to and from Chincoteage (20 miles round trip) with 4 adults and 2 kids ( about 1100 pounds) and not able to trim ( found trim unit did not work this trip) I got around 2.2 MPG and 20 - 25 MPH.

All and all I am happy with it but like everybody else I would like to have a new one.

Those old inline 6 Mercs were great motors. I had an '84 115 that was one of the best motors I've ever owned.

Run her til it breaks.

I heard they called 'em ''the tower of POWER!!" ;D ...
