Is there a nautical name for a boat's transom height? Mine I believe is a 25" shaft motor. What years were they 20 inches. They must have been cut real low! Thanks Billy Mac ;D

My 84 is a 23.5 inch. It is a factory 20 inch with a plate put on to use a 25 inch motor. But they didnt make the plate tall enough, its about 1.5 inches short. It looks like that was as high as they could go and still bolt the motor to the original transom.
I will be putting my 20 inch Johnzuki on here in a few more days.

My 84 is a 23.5 inch. It is a factory 20 inch with a plate put on to use a 25 inch motor. But they didnt make the plate tall enough, its about 1.5 inches short. It looks like that was as high as they could go and still bolt the motor to the original transom.

JUST when ya think ya know somebody!!... naw ... easy to see the benefits of bracket for some applications, but I'm not a ''GOTTA bracket or BUST'' guy ... for instance, iffn ol' Blue got tired of lookin' at that purdy lil' 21 sittin' out in his yard, I'd probably mosey on up and take 'er offn' his ol' DAWG hands ... ...
