Transducer mounting

A friend at work has both a Garmin and a Lowrance fish finder. He would like to know if both transducers can be mounted next to each other, or would they interfere with each other? Thanks Billy Mac

I think i would mount them in the same place on different sides of the boat. Not sure if they will work next to each other wit same frequency ducers??

They should work fine as long as they are not the same frequency . Do you plan to mount them on the transom or glue the transducer inside the hull ?

He plans to mount them on the transom about 10" apart. He called Cabelas today and their tech said there should not be a problem. He'll find out in the next week or two. Thanks Billy Mac

That should work . I mounted my last transducer inside the hull with epoxy and it works well. The diadvantage being a loss of the water temp. . Good luck ....

I have a venerable 1978 Wellcraft V-20 and am considering installing a transducer that mounts inside the hull. Can anyone offer advice?

On my 1986 outbd & 1990 inbd both have a flat area about 16-18" fwd of the transom in the bottom bilge area. Some boat dealers installed the bilge pump in this area because it is flat. This area is suppose to have been made with no wood or air bubbles so a transducer could be installed. Check yours.

Hey C to add to my post, I installed a flush mounted thru hull in my inbd, it works great and wasn't hard to do. The flush mounted ones are better because you don't have to have a guard around the sensor to protect it.

I posted pics of the installation.

I posted pics if you search under my name when I changed out my motor (repower) and took pics of the job.

I asked , few minutes ago, to an expert about your question and when i will receive the answer i will post it soon as possible.

Here you are

Apparently, yes, even a 1 inch of each other .. But the two must be separated in frequency ...check your frequencies Each one must have it prenate frequency.

transducer mounting

i was wondering if i could use the same transducer
that I presently have mounted on my transom to put inside my hull, or would I need to use a special hull transducer? It would certainly make for a cleaner look and take the wiring out of a vulnerable spot. if anyone has done it successfully before please let me know. Thanks
