Took her to the shop today

I went down to my boat to check on her. I started her( hard to start. Crank. Crank. Crank ) then she started. Once started she runs great. So what I did ,I took the cowl off and looked and listen to hear the fuel enrichment worked, I heard it click but I also seen a fuel leak coming from the back of the fuel pump. Leaking where it connects to the block. I don’t know if it’s the fuel pump orv@ fuel line. But I’m wondering if that could cause hard starting? I was going to try to fix it myself but I said this is a job for a mechanic who has the right tools an$ knowledge. To bad Spareparts doesn't live in nj. He would be my go to guy. For sure

It’s been 10 years since i worked on my 150 2S, but that was a pretty easy one to service. I always knew mine was getting weak when while trolling the motor would start dying out. I would have to go back and give it a few pumps on the primer ball.

Hope this cures your problem.

Hey phat, how much do you think the bill is going to be?
1st option. A leaking fuel line at the pump ?
2 nd option. A bad fuel pump?
I don’t know what it is yet but will let you guys know
I hope spare gets in this conversation.
I would like to know what he says. Only because he still works on outboards. I think?

IF that’s all they do, shouldn’t take more than a half hour. Diaphragm kit USED to be about $15.00.

I am constantly surprised at what things cost nowadays, so I’ll say $195.00. Some shops have a 2 hour minimum

I think it’s only held on by 2 bolts in the block, then it comes apart by two more bolts. Pull old parts and replace with new parts.

Pretty easy.

I will let you know I’m guessing $500.00. I know the parts are not expensive but they are crooks. All of them. If I get a 500.00. Bill I will let you know. Let’s see who is closer.
