Took a ride yesterday

Friend of mine has an older 22' Twin Vee catamaran. Not the best fit and finish wise, kinda like a older Carolina Skiff, rolled edges, rough finish glass and gelcoat, but is like riding on a pillow diving into 3-4 footers.

I've spent plenty of time on a 2690 Glacier Bay cat with twin 150 four stroke yamaha's my BIL bought new. In a rear quarter sea or full beam sea it can be seriously dangerous. Not for me. Give me a mono hull anyday. Sure the cat hulls run well in a head sea but you have to turn around sometime. However lots of people love cats.

Too quirky for me. Kind of like a full keel downeast boat in a following sea.

The only cats I like are the old 3208's in the belly of the Bertram.

Agree with inaforty . . . It was a nice ride until the waves stacked up tight across stellwagen, but totally dangerous IMO. I spent some time on a 2680 GB and the snap roll drifting in tight beam sea could throw you right out of the boat. Bottoming out was painful and the sneeze from the tunnel was like a never ending salt water mist from behind. Following seas reminds me of coming down the face of a wave in a JC31 . . . "Screaming J-esus C- hrist!!!! with Carrie Underwood.

Problem solved, the boat search is over. On top of putting off a second back surgery I've been putting off a second neck surgery, and this week I found out I need a knee replacement. Honestly I can deal with it all but when ya hit a wave and ya come down In a particular way that turns/jars yourneck the headaches start that's not fun at all. But I am taking my 4 year old grandson out this morning so he can use his new fichin pole that poppa got him!!!!

Ouch John.. Sorry to hear the health problems :( Hope it all works out for you ok.

So I mentioned a while back I would just wait on a boat till I got my surgeries finished. With my new balance issues the pursuit with the flush deck walk around was just to dangerous for me.i put a respectable price on th Pursuit on it and the first person to look at her stated he'd seen quite a few boots and he was happy to pay me my asking price!! So that's gone! About three weeks ago my younger brother and I were we're headed to Home Depot for material for yet another major renovation of the first floor of his split level home that I'm doing for him. We spotted an extremely clean 1988 winner 2280 sport cuddly walk around with a beautiful 97 Yamaha ox66 250 with a very deep wide walk around,,by now you've figured out that I looked at it ,but felt that as I said I would just-wait ! So my younger brother has been calling me and telling me he has noticed that it is still for sale and I'm crazy not to buy it considering it's incredible condition! I explained that I did love it but was currently so overwhelmed with his project and others I just didn't have the time. Well Sunday night he canme over with the keys and tittle to the boat in hand! It was a very nice gesture.. I accepted the gift and of course I had to say to him for 100,000 dollars worth of free labor and all I get is a used boat !!! We both laughed pretty hard .. I love the boat

WOW... Wish someone would buy me a nice boat every now and then. You've got a great brother. (Just remind him that he still owes you around $90,000 for the free labor you've given him). Maybe he'll buy you some new fishing poles and electronics for the boat also...
Seriously though, congrats on the new baby... can't wait to see some pics of her.

Thanks Paul ,Had about an hour to puts on her today , I'm so impressed with the design and amenities winner company spared no expense ill tell you that.Im just so surprised I really knew nothing about them! I'll definitely post some pics in the next week . I did find out that on this particular model looks exactly like a Grady Seafarer ,winner was actually sued by Grady for it, then was sold to Hydrasport I believe,

Just wanted to show some pics of my new ride..

Damn... SHE IS A BEAUTY!!!! I've always loved the walk-around design. The best of a cuddy cabin and a center console all rolled into one. Nice find.
