Today's the big day Gents!!!

After postponements, lots of tests, preparation and a great deal of pain, I'm finally going in for my knee surgery today. Getting a Total Knee Arthroplasty (Total Knee Replacement). It's been a tough year for me. I had some other medical issues to deal with early in the summer that prevented my from going to Jersey to meet you you guys earlier this year. Then my knee had been getting progressively worse for a while. By the time August came, I just could not walk on it any longer. There were days when I could barely stand. After seeing the orthopedic doc, he said the only choice was a total replacement. There was nothing left to repair in my left knee. I've been out of work on disability since the beginning of August and believe me, it's been a long and painful wait. If I could have fished or done something all this time, that would have helped. But no go.
I'm so looking forward to getting this done and over with and hopefully a better next year.
I'll check back in a few days and let youz know how everything went (I'll be in the hosp for 3-4 days).
Willy; I'm passing the bat off to you to keep the windtalker in check. :bat: It's a much easier job these days. He doesn't log on as much and he's about half the size of his former self. A stiff breeze will knock him down, so even if you miss him with the bat, the breeze generated by the swing will derail him. :hi:

That's all gents. Carry on. :hi:

A friend of mine just had the same thing done...popped back into full action in surprisingly little time...once the doctor is done, PT becomes your best friend for a full and speedy recovery...it'll HURT like a MO FO, but tough it out and you'll be glad you did...

Good luck w/today's procedure and get back to us soon as yer up to it!!...we'll be thinkin' about you...

Thanks fellas. Just waiting around right now. Surgery isn't until 11:30. Think it's okay to have a shot of JD before I go willy? You know, just to take the edge off? :sun:

I would not recomend the JD for CB but maybe your better half needs a snort to get them thru til 11:30.
Best of luck.. Wishing you a speedy recovery..

Best of luck CB. You'll be as good as new when done. My step father in law had both done. He scoots around just fine.

Good luck CB the pt is the key to a speedy recovery, I just finished with all mine about 3 weeks ago .......may till sept 3 days a week ....not bad... get well soon.

i have people that i have known 30 years that say they didn't know it was me when hey saw me, guess thats what 100 pound loss will do to ya?

good luck to you today and hope both of us can fish next year!!
