Sorry brothers, but I am back. Had to work a minute before I could post. First, let me appologize, I got so danged excited that I forgot to take any pics.
We had five flounder over 17.5" and one keeper that was 19.5". We also had a 35" Rock that hit a squid/minnow sandwich. Actually, that was the first bite within five minutes of lines in. My rod was being attended by Rodney Rodholder while I was fiddling with the GPS. ;D
Water temps were 57-59 in the bay, but it is cold and windy out there this afternoon. Visibility was good.
Most exciting to me, I got to tag and release 4 flounder today

The striper was in 2.5' of water, the flounder were in 6 to 8' of water. I know...shoulda taken pictures, but I was more concerned with getting a tag in the fish and getting them back in the water. I turned the striper loose and gave the flounder to my buddy. I hope to catch a few more fish this year, so I can afford to go without one night ;D

I don't have the paper in front of me, but there are about 8 species that are part of the Virginia Game Fish Tagging Program. You hae to go to a class to become a registered tagger. Most of my fishing is catch & release, so I joined this year. It's pretty wild some of the tagging results they have had.

Air: I participated in the Va. tagging program for about 10 years. Im not an active tagger now but I have had some interesting tag returns over the years. Its an added dimension to fishing here & you will probably enjoy it. I have had fish I tagged caught 3 years later at the same spot, & had one trout I tagged in the bay show up in a seafood market in New Orleans!! Its something different.. Had some big red drum tag returns in the outer banks surf. & a cobia return from Florida. Cool stuff...........
