THANK YOU Spareparts!!

Spareparts comes thru AGAIN!!...

The old '74 is gettin old and showing her age for sure these days...soft spots in the foredeck and cockpit that are only gonna get worse w/time...as I don't know SQUAT about working fiberglass, it wouldn't be worth payin' for all the extensive repairs needed just to keep her structurally sound w/minimal improvements appearance-wise. I ran all this by David some time ago and recently he found a diamond in the ROUGH...and I mean ROUGH! She's dirty and in need of LOTS of elbow grease, TLC and a few bucks, but here are a couple of pics of the new "REELAPEELIN"...remember, I said ROUGH

She's a '95 V-21 the previous owner started on, got tired of and abandoned several years back. Spare ran across it a while back and told me about it, then recently took some pics and his opinion of the condition of the hull (he don't hold back much)...he negotiated it down to a doable dollar figure and I went down yesterday and inked the deal.

I'll go back to Charleston and tow it home next week, in the meantime, the fun will begin dismantling the old RAP...Oh BOY!!...let the fun begin!!...:sun:

Hot diggity dam DAWG...that is gonna be a Schweet new Reelapeelin'. Nice work on the deal. Can't wait to see the metamorphasis...

Congrats reel , we all know what a little elbow grease will do. I cant wait to see the transformation, If I was closer I'd love to lend a hand or two..

Sent you a message about the motor on the v21. Might be interested if you want to sell it. Congrats again. Very sweet boat.

he want to sell teh center console as well, ya'll give me a little time adn I'll see what I can get him down to on that one. I don't want to work him too hard all at once

Thanks guys!!...I owe the DEAL to Mr Spareparts...he got it to a place I's willing to step up to...love the Midnight Blue sides...they were Awlgripped on some time ago...not PERFECT, but OK paint job...some buffing should help out the finish....guess i'll be investing in a buffer soon.
As Spare points out, the CC looks pretty good and is available...if he can sprinkle the same majic dust on that one that he did on the 21, somebody'll get it RIGHT...
I will check into the motor comin' off mine, but again, let David talk w/this guy about $$.
I'll post pics as she gets closer to SPLASH DAY...lots to do before then...wish I could spirit Slinger down here for EXPERT help...C'mon if ya can...we'll have some fun!!

Good job my friend, she looks sweet. I know she is going to make a fine ReelApeelin II
Let me know when the splash happens, might have to grab the Puhbah and Spare and join you

that one of the issues Reel had discused with me, Ferm, you got any ideas. The motor on teh boatis mounted fairly high from the pics. I wonder if you could shave an inch or 2 off the built in bracket nad mount teh motor all the way down. Least expensive option would be a jack plate set all the way down, mounting the engine further back to take up for the height. Anyone know of an extension kit for a Honda 150?

Yeah, I'll use the Honda some way or t'other...but I really don't wanna cut this transom cuz eventually there'll be a 25" shaft on it...I'll try Spare's idea of a 6" set-back bracket and see if that'll get me thru til a 25" shaft shows up for it...so at this point, I am lookin' for such a bracket...haven't started search yet, so if anybody's got one in their pocket they're lookin' to part with, gimme a holler!!

Willy...hell yeah get yer @$$ down here for the SPLASH!!...although at present I have no idea of when that'll be...plan A is not to be inna hurry, although I should have her belly wet by late June for a trip to Sunset Beach we have scheduled.
Snow here overnite, but good weather all week ahead, so gonna start tearin' down the '74 and storin' the parts til the 21's ready for 'em...

If nobody wants the complete '74 hull, there will be some goodies parted out including windshield and forward sliding hatch and rails...the twin 40 gal fuel tanks and seat boxes have worked well since 1999 when originally installed...they'll be available as well...see my Gallery for pics of those...anyway, more to come as things progress...as always it's GREAT to have everyone's support and backup for a project like this...no doubt I feel the greatest team on the planet is looking over my shoulder on this...gonna be some-mo FUN!!...
