Hello everyone, I've not logged on in a long time as I have been out of pocket due to work. I'm now back in the market looking for a another V-20. There is a 1994 or 1996 can't remember exactly the year, close by that I am interested in but I have a question that concerns me. There were various '70s and '80s models that I have looked at also however, they had water intrusion in the transom or problems with the stringers needing to be replaced. I was told that was a quirk of the Vs in those years. The guys that told me this could have been just talking and had no real knowledge of the V-20s. Are the V-20 models of the '90s built the same as the earlier models or was there some improvement that helped to eliminate these supposed transom and stringer problems?
I'm getting rid of my 1984 BW Montauk 17' that is having the flooring professionally replaced with extensive restoration work to be completed shortly. I would like to get the V-20 in place by September so I can be ready for some fall fishing.
I appreciate any help you fellows can give on my question.
