stereo, marine amp question

For the Wellcraft's new stereo, since I use my IPod the majority of the time instead of installing a cd/fm/am receiver I've decided to go with a 4 channel amp and wire a permanant input for the ipod on the dash.
Question is, can I get away with one of these cheaper brands like Pyle or Boss

or will there be noticably better sound quality with something like this?

I'll be using it with marine grade speakers ,
I've been looking at these

I won't be blasting music at WOT or expect it to sound like a expensive system but I do want it to sound decent. The amp will be in the cuddy so I suppose i could use a car one too
Thanks guys!

With those speakers, you will not need a powerful amp and you probably wouldn't notice that much difference in sound quality.

Although your set-up will work and is cost effective, you may want to consider installing a cheap IPod ready stereo instead. Most will be able to power those speakers enough and you would have the "luxury" of adjusting the volume via a knob. I always have trouble adjusting the volume on Ipods, nevermind thinking about doing this in a moving boat. I can just see myself trying to turn it down, end up with full volume and blowing out the speakers.

I recently installed a fusion stereo that the face plate flips down and you just insert the ipod and have great control over it. There were a bunch of refurbished ones on ebay, I got one for 80 bucks. Here's one for a bit more money just for example:

Perhaps you can find a cheaper refurb or something similar.

Good luck!

I think I agree with the King on this one. I think you would be happier with an am/fm cd stereo receiver with an IPOD input. But what do I know; I do not even have a stereo in my boat!
