Spring shakedown cruise

Haven't been out since last of December, weather was in the 70's Friday, so wife and I decided to go for it. Still warm, but blowing 10-15. Found some places out of the wind, dropped the anchor, i fished a little, but no bites. On the way home, taking it slow, decided to troll on the way. Water temp still low 64*, but caught first Spanish of '25. Little dink, so I let him go.

Hold Fast, boys, springs right around the corner!

Just a taste of what’s around the bend. I hope. We have our spring break starting March 17th (Happy St Patrick’s Day) wife and daughter will be off for a week, so weather permitting, that will be the thick of the run

White perch are in the Chowan river now, heard it last night. I only got a day off work, cant get time to go. Got a week long shutdown coming up on the 24th. always happens like that.

Here in New Jersey the stripe bass are biting but it’s still cold for me. 70 s is the perfect temp. We have a while to get to the 70s. Nice fish Phat

well Spring Break came & went, blowing 10-15 knots all week long. Went surf fishing couple of times for pompano. No luck
Water temp is 65*,,so still too cool.

Maybe by the week or so…
