Spring line cleats?

Who's got cleats about midships for springlines, ona post 80' "V"? I'm looking for the proper place to mount another cleat on each side. As usual, pics are encouraged. ::)

Thanks

I don't have em, but am thinking about installing as well. I was thinking right next to the helm seat for convenience, where you can reach it from the helm or from behind the helm seat.

I have them on both sides, you can see where in this pic

They're a good place to hang a fender, too.

Absolutely perfect Pipe ;) Now, are they mounted on the horizontal surface as they appear, or are they on the vertical surface? That is the place that I was considering?

Thanks a bunch

Thanky CY, that works to. Looks like its time for another round of projects. Dam wind won't let me get offshore, so I'll spend the fuel money on projects ;D ::)

glad I can help a brother out........ ::)

you dont have to tell me about the wind, we were supposed to go to the hambone saturday for tuna, well that did not happen >:(

Going to the Hambone in the "V"? If we get the right day later this summer I'm game. ;D

your freakin nuts. :o We go out there in my boss' 28' Albe ;) ;D

but if you wanna try it in your V, count me in :o ;D

Hey, I'm comy in the "V" up to about 40 miles off. I like to have company in case of mechanical problems, but I ain't skeert to take her offshore at all. That said, I do like a few days of stable high pressure and no more than 3' seas. If I had more fuel, or that new 150 Opti, I'd even extend my range on the right day 8)

well if you need some one to go give me a call, I will brave it with you.
;)
and why the new cleats???

is Airslot going to be a "marina" queen??? ;D

I have a slip available to me, but I like the mobility, portability, of being on the trailer.

The new cleats are more for convenience. When returning to the dock I use one line that runs from stern to bow and just throw it over the pilings. It would be easier if I had a cleat about where the helm is.

That, and I have a little money that needs to be spent on the "V". Got some other mods in the back of the noodle as well. ;D

Horizontal. And it is right next to the helm seat so I can hang a fender while I'm pulling into the marina.

Slot, I put mine on a vertical surface so things(pine needles and other schmeg) don't become lodged there and accumulate...easier to get to also, especially from the helm ...

Reel, there is nothing but glass where your's are. Is that area strong enough to mount a cleat, with a backing plate or at least fender washers I assume?

Thanks,

Jackson Danielson

Oh sure now that you are back home from the Hammerfest you are speaking Jack Danieleze, thank God Lefty helped me out or I might have developed a complex drinking alone.
Well probably not but I thought it for a second ;D

Slot, I used a backing plate of 1/4" aluminum and pretty confident it's quite strong...I wouldn't count on fender-washers here... ;) ...
