Specs & Rock...

Fished in a secret fishing hole around Smith Island in the Chesapeake Bay yesterday. Had a nice catch of specks and small rock on the incoming, but got chased by the rain, thunder & lightning. By all accounts it looks like its going to be a great fall fishing...

Here's the start of the trip...

Have to get some fish pics off the phone, but this young lady can certainly hold her own with a fish pole

And this is the start of a wonderful dinner. We added a few fried softcrabs and a bottle of pinot noir for dessert

Life is good. Had about a dozen rock and maybe 7 specs. All fish 18-22 inches.

Nice catch, gulp is hard to beat. Isn't Smith Island just south of Goat Island?

Smith Island is just north of Tangier, just south of South Marsh. Not familliar with Goat Island, except for on the Pocomoke River...

Looks like I'll be back at em Saturday with full crew and no other commitments
