Been surf fishing last couple of weeks, looking for pompano & whiting. Yesterday was a nice day, so we decided to take a boat ride around noon. No real fishing plans, just run the boat.

by the time we got out wind had kicked up, so we were looking for spots out of the wind. Coming back around a point. thought I saw something striking the surface.

Had a small trout rod onboard. Found an old spoon laying on the dash. Trolled it for about 15 minutes got these guys. Top 2 are small schoolies, but the bottom one is a nice Spanish.

Phat, there you go again - SHOWING OFF!!!:beer: But you know what I say about showoffs, KEEP IT UP.:nice: Went for a boat ride and caught some nice fish. Everyday on the water is a treat, enjoy.

Went again Monday with my son, this time ,no wind. Had a blast,probably caught 30 fish. Trolled for a while,then just drifted and cast jigs. Lot more fun than trolling.

Ended up keeping 3 because they were fouled hooked.
 
Little early for the spanish isn't it? I know you see them first but it seems like it is normally a little later.

You re right, Blue. Not real sure if these are late fall run or early spring run, judging by the size,i think they are late fall.

I ve got some video, just waiting on my son to upload it, i ll post it .

Spring run is usually 3rd foggy morning in March
