Went fishing Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 9 or so. Caught plenty of 2-5# Blues and about a dozen seabass 12-15". Nothing super special, but lots of action. All fish were caught on a Crippled herring jig with a dropper fly tied above it. Probably my favorite way to fish.
The therapy part; my boss and mentor, and a hell of a friend passed away Saturday afternoon. It was a peaceful ending to his 5 month battle with cancer. He fought a good fight, but the demon won this time. I was home loading the boat Saturday evening when I got the call. I spent most of Sunday helping his wife / widow get things in order. After we were done, it was time to hit mother ocean for a little reflection. I sat there, jigged a few fish, and watched the sunset 15 miles offshore in somewhat snotty seas. Actually, the ride out was snotty, but it laid down nicely around sunset. The moon was bright, thesky was filled with stars, and I had a bit of a following sea for the ride home. All in all, a great ending to a not so hot weekend. And to cap it off, I'll share a few pics of the Sunset, and a fish of course
