Have used Ugly Stick rods for decades .

Find them the best performance / value rods for most purposes.

These $50 rods have been great for all the inshore species I fish for easily handling Stripers to 40lbs, big blues etc.

Agreed. I have a few Ugly Sticks. Never had an ugly stick break while fighting a chomper blue. Never been a problem except I had to rewrap the guides on a really old one. Also have a few Shimano downrigger poles and some Diawa poles. All good quality.

Have a bunch of ugly sticks. They never disappoint me. Great rod.

i think we're all in agreement. who doesn't love an ugly stick. the newer tiger sticks look pretty bada$$. not cheap.
