trying to find new thru hulls and new floor drains for my 1985 v-20. also i woukld like to put in a check valve of some type so when a few people go on the same side water does not come in and up onto the floor. the hole in the floor is only 1 1/4 " and also the thru hull is the same size. no luck at boating stores and have had no luck at plumbing supply . some one told me a drain from a tub which has an elbow right away , but they are much bigger holes than i have. do i need to make bigger holes to do this? if i could just find the drain that sits on the boat floor and screws into the piece i have would also work. someone must of ran into this before. help please bb ??? ??? ??? ???

LOL, BrownBob,
I thought that this was an old post of mine. I was looking for the same things, replacing the scupper, deck drains and installing a teevalve that stops water from coming in. I found it all.
Normal boat shops sell scuppers in 1" and 1 1/4. You can go to a plumming supply house and find the deck drains. I live in the hicks so finding a plumming house didnt work out for me, but other members mentioned how they use "bar" sink drains. They come in 1" hose sizes that will fit the drain.
You need to send a picture of your boat and post it for us to see !!!
Here are a few pictures of my deck drains and valve.
Good luck and keep us posted.

deck drain. 1" sink drain.

msb , the 3 rd picture on lucky scupper is what i have , the floor drain thing that screws in is what snapped just like your picture. where or what do i use? bb

I couldnt find that part at any boat store. I was told to check out a pool store or plumming supply house.
Since I could not find one, I used those sink drains that fit a 1" hose. Been told they work real well. Have not installed mine as of yet. Waiting for this cold spell to blow over.
Send in pictures of your boat ;D ;D ;D ::) ::)

You can go with a larger drain as well. A drain with a ball in it is much safer as well. Seen alot of them on E-BAy.
But they are bigger in size. You will have to get a hose adapter that goes from 1 1/2 to 1" wich they do make and sell at west Marine. But be carefull, make sure you have enough clearance under the deck for them to fit. It might be tight.

found the sink drains. just had to cut them about an inch shorter in length. brass was easy to cut. got a check valve and just will need some hose a nd we should be ready to go. thanks guys. a few more little projects and we will be ready to go. thanks bb
