Rub Rail Replacement

I'm looking to replace the rub rail on my V20. I have two questions,
1. is there a particular company anyone recommends? I've been looking around and there seems to be a couple different materials, I'm leaning towards the rigid vinyl, any thoughts?
2. The existing rail got banged up by the PO and the holes for the screws got elongated by about 3/4". I know I can just offset the new screws and drill new holes but how should I repair the old holes, Just fill with sealant?

Taco Marine makes a bunch of different rub rail kits.

I'm switching to a white rigid vinyl one with a stainless insert.

I would fill the old holes even if it's with marine tex or 5200. No sense in giving the water another way in.
 
As Bradford said Taco probably offers the best selection of different style rub rails.

I would recommend West System six10 epoxy to fill the holes.

The only drawback is it would laminate the two halves of the hull together everywhere you filled a hole with it, unless you slide wax paper between the hull and liner. But if you do not plan on removing the liner then fill em' up! :beer:
 
Thanks for the info. I found a kit (50') from Taco for $200 plus a $50 rebate. I didn’t think that was too bad. I think I’m going to epoxy the holes, seems like the hull has some movement and that caused the hole to elongate. Is there a better way to tie the hull to the liner (besides just screws) so this doesn’t happen again?
