I, and I'm sure others here, certainly have thought about gloating... of rubbing salt into the wounds of the esteemed opposition. But I got to thinking about it. And I realized that, unlike Obama's saying they won, that elections have consequences and then ramming the largest spending bill in history down our throats, this is not a time for gloating, (although we could certainly do the same thing). This is also not a time for protesting (Unlike those idiots and criminals that are rioting in some cities). This is not a time to be a hindrance or obstructive.
This is not even a time for healing... (although that certainly is a constructive plus should it happen along the way).
As I see it, what this is, is a time for everyone.... BOTH sides, to keep an open mind and to try, with all their might, to help their Country. Do it by getting involved. Make constructive suggestions and searching questions. We have a completely unique opportunity to actually DO something about the problems that have been facing our nation for a long time. If you don't like something... speak out. But do it peacefully. Tell you representatives. If you have a constructive suggestion, again, do the same thing. Give voice to your thoughts... both by contacting your Congressman or Senator and by forming or joining like thinking political groups (in your own town, county and state). Let your voices be heard loudly and clearly... but peacefully. Try to keep an open mind.
It really is time to drain the swamp, ...to at least start the process of transforming Washington from the corrupt mess it is now into something that actually works for the people. And if we fail.. if we don't succeed... then it's time to try again, and again, until we finally remove the cancer from the American dream. We MUST work together. And, unfortunately, we WILL be resisted. There are lots of very rich people (elites) on both sides of the aisle that are very happy to keep things as they are so they can rule us. They take our money and give us little if anything in return, while they live fat and happy, leeching off of us. (A perfect example is Mitch McConnell (R) [Senate Majority Leader] who, as soon as he heard about Pres. Trump's plan to try and impose term limits on Congress and the Senate, said that it was not in his plans to bring it up for a vote). That's the kind of resistance that we will face, and that's the kind of resistance (from BOTH sides) that we must work to eventually overcome and eliminate if we are really serious about taking back our Government from this multi-headed corrupt viper that it is now.
Truly, I wish that I was more skilled in writing. I write from the heart, but I don't have the ability to turn a phrase as well as some other people here on this site and elsewhere. So just hear my words and remember the quote from President Obama. "Elections have consequences". For once, "We, the People".....We may actually have the opportunity to effect change. Keep an open mind, bury the hate, lets work together to try and reshape our Country back into the greatness it once was.
