Quiet like a mouse

I agree, not much traffic. I’ve been MIA lately in the fishing section. Wife had an accident at work end of July, had a Barton fracture of her left wrist, immobilized in a splint until August 11. Had surgery, got a plate and several screws.

So NO boating for us since then. She’s in OT now. This was the best scallop season in 20 years, best blue crab run in last 5 years.

The good news, didn’t have to worry about flesh eating bacteria that was in the bay

Pompano run should start any day now, hopefully I’ll have something to post

Phat, sorry to hear about your wife - How's she doing - Scalloping and crabbing and you missed it - Next year - Flesh eating bacteria in the bay?
Good luck with the Pompano - 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇸

Maybe because I haven’t been on the site lol but let me tell you why? I couldn’t get my email. I don’t know why so I gave it to my son to fix it, that was two weeks ago. I have to meet up with him so I could get my iPad back. So enjoy the quiet for now cause wh3n I get back my iPad. Game on. I’m using my wife’s iPad now and don’t reely like using hers.
Sorry to hear about your wife’s accident

Just like the terminator said. I’ll BE BACK

thanks guys, she’s getting better every day. Worst part, since it happened at work, WorkComp is running the process. Very long delays getting things done.

Did go surf fishing yesterday, 2 hardtails, 3 pinfish, and 1 big bluefish. No Pompanq

Step, I know your pain. My kids are my IT dept also

Phat glad to hear your wife is on the mend. Looking forward to some "phat" pompano pics soon. Step, we were all wondering where you disappeared to :). Glad to hear you will be back in full force soon!

Hi guys. Got my iPad back happy to hear your wife is getting better. I had the same injury years ago. Plate and screws in left wrist. No issues after it healed. Your wife will be the same. Hang in there Phat.
I was out tog fishing yesterday and we got about a dozen nice togs BUT I have to be honest. My son caught all of th3 except for one. I got 5he one we were using the same stuff but I’m thinking his jig might have been 1 oz and mine was 3/4 oz , was that 5he difference? Anyway I hope to be out 5his weekend and do it again only I want the dozen and leave him one lol. It’s getting late in the season in NJ. I know my marina will turn off the water soon and that will be the end of my season. It sucks when the fishing turns on and the water turns off. Hope everyone is doing good.

Step, your son caught most of the fish, never leave him home again - Me, I hated using a jig - I used what ever ounce I needed and a single hook
My Marina didn't shut the water off until they heard the first a frost was coming - Some of us still kept our boats in trying to get the last of the Striper run - Back then Black fish wasn't my priority - It was all Bass - Then I woke up - I would use the salt water to wash the deck down - Then I hoped for a good rain 😂 😂 Good luck this weekend - Maybe take a few pictures - ❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

thanks step, I'll tell her what u said. Everyday, it's a little bit better.

As far as fishing, you put him on the spot,u get some credit for that

Hi Phat - Very glad to hear your wife I’d doing better. A couple of years ago, my daughter really smashed her wrist - definitely no fun.

I’m going tomorrow with a buddy for Coho Salmon, where we scored a couple this time last year (and he’s nailed a few earlier this season). Hoping for the best - we’re definitely not in Florida (way fewer fish but fewer storms too 😬🤣).

Going out this weekend. Going to look for stripers then go to my secret spot for black fish. I reely don’t care for stripers but my son loves fishing for them. Me? I like bottom fishing. Anchor up and tog fish especially since we got them this weekend. I’m just happy that my boat ran well and we got back safe. Everything in between is a plus. Phat before you know it you will b3 back fishing with your better half and if you are in my area I will show you my secret spot, you would never believe it.

Well - I got one. Coho, 11 lbs, 30”. Great day with an old buddy I originally met in 1960 in 7th grade. Was his first day out in his boat after heart surgery - I know his equipment, so was able to help him make it work. Very satisfying, and very nice Salmon for a few dinners - good timing for family dinner tomorrow evening.Resized_20251022_094634%284%29.jpeg

NICE FISH!!! Would love to have some fresh salmon. All i ever had came from Sam’s Club.

Nothing like fishing with old friends. Some of the guys I fish with, I knew in Elementary School. We’ve told each other the same stories so many times we can finish them for each other.

You look bundled up, i feel your pain. Went to do some service calls this morning, it was 59*, I broke out the V-20 hoodie and socks.

Thanks guys. Yes Phat - I forgot how much colder it is on the water. Thankfully he had a spare hood/neck cover and I did have some layers. I won’t go out this time of year without gloves again and my fleece hoodie. My hands were freezing for a couple of hours, but the sun came out and the misery faded😊.

I do love playing and landing fish, and our catch here is so meager that I take every one real seriously. At least, at this location, we were OK to use barbed hooks - a lot of our fishing is barbless which makes some species almost impossible to keep hooked up.

I hope I can visit Florida sometime. I’m envious of your fishery, but I’m glad you get to enjoy it.
