What size trim tabs do you have on your boat and are they electric or hydraulic? The Lenco people say I need 9' x 12" and another company say I need 12" x 12". I think my next project on my boat will be trim tabs. I believe they will help the cuddy even more the the CC. Thanks, Barry
 
12 X 12 will be better, but they say the min. is 12 X 9

Lenco is the better then the 2 IMO, but you have to raise one side at a time!!!
If not you WILL burn out the motor!!

I'd go with the Bennett M120 Sport Tabs, 10x12.  You can get the complete kit for under $400 if you shop.

I'm probably installing these this summer.  I'll do a DIY write-up and post it.  Supposed to be a fairly easy install and comes with a DVD for instuctions..  The little I've got to use my boat, I'd say the V20 is a good candidate for tabs.
 
The "batwing" design creates 30% more lift than conventional tabs, so the 12x10 is plenty for a V20.

MJ, ol' buddy...I know you don't like hydraulics and you've had problems w/ 'em, but when I break down and tab mine the bat-wing Bennets above will be my choice...if they screw up, you'll get to say, ''I told you so!!!"... ;D ;D...
 
I do like the Lenco Troll 'n Tabs....but ouch, the price! Plus they are electric, not hydraulic. Electric with a trailered boat is not such a big deal but heard people with these that keep their boat moored and they are not lasting very long.

Bennett's customer support is supposed to be outstanding.
 
Everyone I know that has Lenco's has gone through at least one acuator a year. Stick with the bennett tabs and put the hydraulic pump somewhere dry . . . it'll last 20 years. The nice part about the bennett tabs are they use standard compression fittings from the hardware store . . .

If you have to replace the lines just get 50ft black irrigation hose, compression fittings, teflon tape, and a quart of hydraulic fluid from Ace Hardware (for under $15 total) and you all set.
 
i have 9 x 18 lenco on my V20 i like the much more than the Bennets i had before
 
I find them to be somewhat slower but it makes it easy to fine tune the trim of the boat----
 
I have installed 100’s of Bennett’s and trust me Bennett’s actuators are far from trouble free

As with anything they all have there problems!!

I like the Lenco for ease of install and yes no oil leaks. But they are slow to respond, they have to go one side at a time, and you need a little bugger size.

Bennets are faster to respond harder to install, have to watch for oil leaks, and they have a nice assortment for almost any boat.

I have said I would go with Lenco and belive I still will. But on a boat I have no Idea what i am going to do with?? I really am thinking of selling??
We will see what this year brings? and go from there.
