Pulpit install / assembly...

If the deck pipe hole is not covered by the pulpit,
why not cut the flange on the deck pipe.
So instead of a circle, the flange looks like a D.

Hey, thats not a bad idea, and definately look custom. My concern right now is that by butting something against the pulpit I'm leaving myself open to moisture intrusion in the deck. Thats why I have been thinking of repairing the hole and drilling a new one. The old hole is currently sealed on the edges with 4200 as a temporary safety.

Starboard cut like D flat edge 45* like the the pulpit, this will allow the edge to slip under theedge of the plupit a little, loys of 5200 and it will never leak!

Got starboard?

I do. ;D Hope to work on it tomorrow some, but will certainly be finished by Sunday at the very latest.

Quick update...after mowing the lawn and having to trim around the V, lack of use you know, I cut my "D" shaped starboard. It came out quite nicely. Wouldn't you know it that my 1-7/8" holesaw is hiding from me. I may have to rotozip this one.

If its proof ya want, then feast your eyes on these...

All done, finished, and complete...

And because the shackles and thimbled rope ends wont pass throught the smaller deck pipe, I taught myself a new knot, the chain splice...

So, hows the for, uh, proof ;D

Looks great!!

I really wish I had learned years ago how to splice line!! I could never do it now with my fingers.

Now clean her up and start fishing!!
