To prove that progress sucks. It’s not always a good thing. I took the plug ou5 of my radios. I had to fix the stations again and set th3 clock again. You know what I’m talking about. My old 1960s radio. Did not hav3 to do any5hing. Just plug it in. The stations again and was set and it doesn’t have a clock but if it did. I would not have to do any5hing. Give me back my 60s and 70s.
 
My 2015 Silverado driver's seat - the power seat option to tilt back partially stopped working. I say partially because it would still tilt back but wouldn't tilt forward. As a result it was stuck tilted position, not all the way back but the problem is I would accidentally tilt it back here and there when trying to adjust the seat fwd and back, so it got to where I needed a pillow to drive. I took it to the shop and my mechanic was looking at what it would take to fix it and said it would be cheaper to replace the entire seat with a used one. That was going to be $200 (not counting labor) and the seat may not have been in as good of shape as my existing seat. I mentioned, what about if you can just get it tilted fwd to my preferred comfortable position. So he was able to remove the cover and manually get the seat tilted to where I wanted it. $140 later I was back in business. He removed the blown motor so I couldn't tilt it back anymore. So basically it won't tilt any more, but I can drive now. Seat still moves fwd/back, up/down, and lumbar support still works. Just not tilt. To Step's point - give me back my manual tilt. Fine to have power tilt, but give me a manual option for when it quits working. sheesh

Don't make them like they used to? Maybe.

My 2000 Suburban's power driver seat never stopped functioning, including the memory settings, in the 17 years I drove it (400K plus miles). It was a great truck and I didn't like parting with it. On the other hand, a 2017 top-of-the-line Silverado that our company owned, its power driver seat got lowered to its lowest level, almost on the floor, and refuses to be raised. I drove it a few months ago and felt like a kid, barely looking above the steering wheel. Like yours, the rest of the functions worked. When we sold my Suburban I got a used Toyota Sequoia with 30K on it. It's approaching 100K. We'll see how it holds up and if I drive it 17 years like I did the Sub.
 
Well my mechanic said he had never seen anything like it. He said the motor had been attached to a plastic mount and that it "exploded" to where the plastic mount was destroyed. IDK tho, I didn't hear an "explosion" and the motor he took out doesn't look like it exploded. I believe what he says tho b/c I grew up with him and his dad was a great mechanic before him. He has helped me countless times over the years and his dad before that. Either way I'm happy that I'm no longer almost laying down while driving LOL!!!
 
My 1985 dodge ram charger 4 wheel drive and it never failed. 4 speed Manuel power steering and power brakes. No rug on the floor
My service engine light came on and I didn5 even know I had a light. Do you know how I fixed it? Under the dash on the passenger side a battery went dead. Changed the battery,hit the reset button and that was it. Today. Forget it. It would cost big money. I hav3 more story’s but I’m getting tired. It’s 1108 pm I will continue soon.
I have a 2018 Toyota tundra. They say you should engage the 4 wD once a month to keep it from seizing. My old dodge never said that. Engage it when you need it. Once a year was fine. New vehicles suck even though my tundra is a great truck. But I still like the old stuff.

My superduty had electronic operated 4x4. I got sick of replacing parts all the time. I bought a manual transfer case from a work truck model. And swapped them out. The floor had a plate glued over the shifter hole. That took the longest to remove that. I still have the switch on the dash, I keep it in 4x4 low just to see if any passengers ask about it.
