Would anyone happen to have the hook pictured in this photo? The hole is 90 degrees to the hook opening. Thanks!

What you have is called a snatch block. The winch cable is fed thru the snatch block roller an and the hook gets attached to under the mount of the winch. So what you will wind up with is a double cable that have more and slower retrieve then hooking it directly to the hull. It sounds confusing but it’s very simple. I will check YouTube to see if it can show you.

Check YouTube. But I feel a hook should already be be attached to the end of the power winch cable. Then you just run it thru the snatch block after you assemble it.

Never seen a hook with a 90 eyelet. Hate to say it but amazon. And stand clear when u use it! Throw a heavy towel on the cable so it doesn't turn into an 80 mile rubber band

Yeah I know what it is, I've rigged 4 boats like it. Since I bought this 912 I have only had it rigged for single pull. If you've had experience with these Chinese Powerwinches the last few years they are not the same quality as before. I decided to go with the double pull setup to try and get more life out of it. Powerwinch use to sell a swivel pulley block and I've used it but I was always untwisting the cable before power the winch in. Some of you may know what I am talking about. The hook with the 90 degree eye is the ticket. Never had that problem with it installed. Never thought such a common widely used item would be this hard to find today! Wow!

That 90 degree eye puts the pulley block in line with the cable.

You mean like this?? This was my 1rst V-21 that I rigged up for double pull. Of course you want the two cables as close together as possible but there was no room on the winch mount area so on the winch stand it went. Worked like a champ, little longer to retrieve the boat but that ice cold beer sure was refreshing!

It looks like the bracket that the winch is mounted on ,the winch should be lower on the bracket. It should be a straight pull. The cable goes around the snatch block and the bitter end should be directly under the winch keeping it as straight as possible. But I would have to be there to see it myself, but if it works then don’t change it. But I would lower the winch
Did you check harbor freight? They have winch blocks.

made for slipping or making a choker with a cable or rope take an anchor shackle and put pin through the eye.

sorry for the long links, only way i know how to do it

a hook with a narrow gap is a grab hook, made for holding onto a certain link in a chain. Least thats what we called them.

I have that. I need the eye to be 90 degrees to the hook. Just like the one Powerwinch use to include in their winch kits and pictured in my 1rst post.

on the photo of your previous V21, where does the 90* hook come into play? Might have to go to Powerwinch or get a swivel hook like the one in your V21 picture

The hook is attached to the pulley block. I just found and purchased on Ebay a swivel hook just like you see in my 1rst pic of my other V-21. Powerwinch does not sell either one anymore. They are obselete.

I really wanted that 90 degree eye. The swivel sometimes allows the cable to twist together like licorice just when your on the trailer and about to hook into the bow eye. That 90 degree hook not so much.

good deal

I have a snatch block on my hand crank winch, but also have a float on trailer. So I only let out about 1-2 ft of cable.

glad u got it worked out
